Honestly cannot complain at all. As long as he keeps on getting the minutes he will improve. The lad is young and as doing well

Sergi?o Dest has fully recovered from the discomfort that forbade him to play against Real Sociedad. He is now healthy and ready to play the Supercopa final on Sunday.

Already the life has been sucked out of him. In his first few games he did what he did at Ajax; dribbled past some guys, very good on the ball. Now he rarely cross the halfway line and mostly just pass backwards every time.

That's what I was thinking too. Not sure where things went wrong.

It's just the go to for people who are afraid to admit a lot of our players are just at best mediocre. Rakitic just needed a rest for several years too, apparently.

Or maybe it was a false dawn? Remember, it's not like he was rated at Ajax by Ajax fans or Dutch fans in general. Daniel James also started out banging goals and assists for Manchester United, only to completely stagnate and then decline for the next 1.5 years. A good start does not mean it's their real quality, similarly a decline in form doesn't mean that's their real quality either. Regardless, just don't be too quick to blame the club.

What from? He isn't playing all that much. The last match he played happened 8 days ago. Also, rarely plays 90 minutes.

Think he should be among rested players.

I'm not sure why, but if you look at his display vs RM and this game, you could see he was more energetic and quicker back then.

There were also reports that he was injured vs Real Sociedad which was why he didn't play in that match.

Still suffering from injury/discomfort.
He is playing way too many games in just a short period of time when he is still adapting to the new club as a kid.
Being a regular starter is good for him to establish confidence but the current intense schedule is harming his physique and development.
