How do you think Barcelona's reputation will weaken by signing Neymar? Do you think the football club indicted and convicted for fraud can have their reputation destroyed even further?

In fact, this will probably enhance the club's marketing potential and reputation when it comes to attracting bigger sponsorship deals and the naming deal for the Nou Camp Nou.

Something the club need to compete vs. Petrodollar clubs in the future.

I agree that he is a marketing crack but did you forget how he left the club? Did you forget that he sued us? Also bare in mind that during the last two seasons he was injured all of the time and that his level dropped significantly in comparison to 2015. He was also accused of r.a.p.e and that hurt his marketing potential significantly. When we talk about Neymar we need to realize he might never reach his peak again. When Messi retires Neymar will be over 30 so he is also not a long term solution. It's not like he is a sure bet.

Yes, he is easily a top 2/3 player in the world, only 27 years old and the most or second most marketable player in the world after Ronaldo. No brainer.

Club doesn't have the money though without selling Coutinho, shame.

He left, so what? Football is a business, footballers aren't fan's girlfriends. "Uhh, left for someone else, now I don't want to see you ever again."

United would have taken back Ronaldo when he was 27 in a heartbeat. It's all a business. Everyone's darling Messi wouldn't be here also if he didn't receive 100 mil a year with contract renewal every 2 years.

Ronaldo went to a bigger team and did so while respecting United. Neymar was a whole different story, leaving in very bad taste.

Concerns:
1) He betrayed us
2) He would have 2nd highest wages in the world + we could be baned in CL for breaking wages/income-ratio.
3) He is consistently injured 1/3 of a season.
4) Club de amigos would be manifested - we would have to play him no matter the performance, we need to go the exact opposite direction. He will demand to take pens, etc.
5) He is a Brazilian, who is 27 years old. 2 prime years left wouldn't be surprising to anyone.
6) No guarentee he doesn't leave when he wants, for example next year because chinese or Beckham pays his clause again (but, but then we'd have money - yes, but barcaprices would raise accordingly like last time).
7) Pacy wingers are best when younger, when they lose pace due to age, they aren't as good (could play AM, though).
8) He would bring bad drama to our already over the top drama-club
9) Pacy wingers like Sane or Pepe pops up every year, if our scouts pay attention.
10) He would somewhat hinder Griezmanns adaption and fully hinder Dembeles development.
11) He would be the worst kind of rolemodel for our La Masia youth. Do we want to signal: look up to and immitate Neymar? No, we don't want that in the long run.
12) We would signal that you can always come back to Barca no matter how you treat us, there is no consequence (not the best argument)
13) He would be the absolutte perfect Real Madrid Villain. After Cristiano and soon Ramos, we need a new one to keep the club at it's toes fuel emotions/passion/winner-instinct which is What has lacked in all of the CL-embarassments.

Good list and reasons why we shouldn't sign him.

No! Club reputation is much more important than a pacey winger. Don't want this clown near Barca ever again.

I don't want him back (unless it is Coutinho + reasonable amount of cash) but this is very inaccurate.
Neymar coming back is good reputation for us. He will "cry" in regret and give an "example" of why it is wrong to leave Barca.
Remember, Neymar is probably the only star who has forced his way out of the club since Laporta took over (may be even since Figo) and clubs care a lot about their reputation and dominance in transfer market.

Yep. Neymar coming back makes PSG look bad and Barca look great. The Sheiks know this and that is why it will not happen. Their image will take a huge hit and if they don't manage to extend Mbappe their project will take a possibly fatal hit to the point that they will be unable to sign the biggest stars.

Neymar I believe will be motivated, more than ever before. And still ambitious given he hasn't really won the CL more than once in 2015.

We need more players that want to win. That are self-critical like de Jong.

We have too many players that either shrink when it gets tough or like to make up excuses all the time like Pique and Suarez.

I still remember when Busquets, Suarez and Pique were asked about Messi's comments at the Gamper Trophy Presentation last year, where they didn't want to commit to Messi's promise about doing whatever it takes to bring the CL trophy back to Barcelona. Sure, they said that the club will always fight for every trophy, but it's so generic. Everyone says that.

We should have known back then.

Ronaldo has a better PR team, literally the only difference. While Neymar's stuff is handled by his dad who is scum from Brazil's favelas.

Remember Ronaldo feeling like a slave at United?

https://www.theguardian.com/football/2008/jul/11/manchesterunited.premierleague1

"Respected United". Sure.

Ronaldo never uttered the words 'i am a slave'. He agreed with Blatter who brought up slavery. There is a difference.

Both moves had very distinctive hues to them.

Getting Neymar back with all the red flags would make the club look even worse then keeping Valverde or the consecutive painfull CL exits.
