If Nadal is capable to humilate Federer and even dominate him on grass (just imagine someone to do it with Samprass at Wimbledon - looks impossible, uh?), then it's enough for me to give him the respect he actually deserves.

But to make La Furia sound objective about Nadal it's like to expect from justin to admit that Cesc is inferior to Xavi or Iniesta. It will just never happen
Nikolay Davydenko has positive head-to-head record against Nadal, does that make him the greatest player in the history?
Plus 10 or eleven out of his 14 victories were on clay. And if you remember the last time they met, it was Roger who whooped that gypsy's ass. Sampras was shit on clay too, any decent player would beat him there. And what happened to that doctor who used to feed Nadal and the Spanish cyclists with enriched blood?

Comparing Nadal to Federer is like comparing Inter or Chelsea with Barcelona. Nadal is a defensive player whose game is build on fitness and power, while Federer is a natural talent, he's the most talented player out there. It's a matter of taste I suppose.

nice post guardian,I donot agree with Nolan regarding Nadal taking advantage of the weakest era stuff,I hate the donkey but we have to admit that he is extraordinary player, would make it into top 10 of all time for sure, maybe even more if he continues to develop, the weakest era is not now but it will be soon once Roger retires, this will leave nadal alone competing with noone unless that guy desoe's son shows some potential, cant see any 21+years old players competing with Nadal in the coming years

Well Nadal is IMO a top 10 of all time at least, possibly top 5, he would be a great player no matter what era he was in but I feel like both Nadal and Federer would have a few less grand slams if they were born earlier. Federer had more competition when he was younger, Nadal missed the peak of a lot of players who he's better with but who pose better matchups than the week clowns today, but I think the overall tour was much deeper in the 90s.

I just aren't impressed with many players right now. Murray and Djokovic are talented but mentally weak and Djoko has serious stamina issues that will always hold him back, Del Potro is injury prone because of his size you really got to wonder if he will return to where he was, the rest of the younger players right now are all sizzle and no steak. Will be interesting if the kids start getting their act together with Federer and others his age nearing the end.

Head to head record doesn't mean much. What makes Federer even greater is that his playing style is very efficient. I don't take if you are as fit as Nadal, if you play the type of tennis he does it takes a huge toll on your whole body. While I do respect his athleticism, he will certainly reach his peak much faster than Federer.

Clay wins, which most of his wins came from, are not indicative of his greatness. I'm not saying clay is a crap surface to play on, but if you look at tennis history all those wildcard grand slam winners won their titles on clay while they completely shitted out of the other surfaces. I have lots of respect for Nadal, but overall I believe Federer is just better.

LOL wow what a match! 2nd set, Djoko up 2-1, then goes down 5-2, then he's up 6-5 now. Epic stuff.

Amazing ground strokes by the Serb, really impressed by how he's just blasting Fed off the court

This marks the official end of Federer. When was the last time he lost in a grand slam in straight sets? Has it even happened?

The only time he's going to win another grand slam is if all the other top players get knocked out before they get to him.

roger probably the worst game I have seen for him in a grand or no grand, awful first serve, medicore dropshots and what the fuck was his problem with his backhands,he also had many chances to return but made an epic fail plus he was defending like he never did before, end of roger?no,not yet,as for Djoko i have always critisiced Him for not stepping up his game after being tipped to end the roger-donkey debate but today he looked mentally superb and his comeback in the 2nd set was a great all-time one, anyway the game in general was disappointing, set 2 was awesome but in general most points won were by amateur faults.

Federer was never going to beat Novak, he's past it, as long as he comes up against top 5 guys in grand slams he's not going to win them, other than Murray(if he's top 5, not sure).

27.01.2011 - The end of Roger Federer. Only luck will win him another slam.
