Nobody expect for Messi the cancer to bail out Barca. Hell I don't want him to carry Barca. If I'm Messi i will just go with the tide and let De Jong or Ter Stegen the captain materials carry me to Europa

The decline has been noticable, yes we have been better defensively, but we also scored a lot less once he left, we also lost our fear factor in the CL.
Also, our effort in replacing our veterans is just as slow as yours, probably worse, actually.
We are still lining up Kroos - Casemiro - Modric in most games, Benzema is apparently undroppable,and Marcelo is still here.
