No chance he will replace Alba. EV would never have bought a LB as attacking as Firpo to play LB. He is almost certainly coming to help us park the bus in a 4 4 2 away from home. Not a good sign if you like attacking football.

Betis is close to sell Lo Celso for 70M so this will be enough for them to buy Fekir (could be official today) and Borja Iglesias so they won't need to sell Firpo for cheap.

Ugh, there is no way Barca could afford the 50m release clause. Now I'm guessing that Alaba has become a reasonable target?

Indeed. Last season already demonstrated the reality that a legitimate rotating LB is needed so whether it's Firpo or not, gotta believe there is at least one more addition to the squad

I think we can still get him. Latest news is us offering 25m + Miranda and an option to buy him back and Betis may accept it.

The only talks that I've seen have been about Firpo, Alaba and those two other Bundesliga players. Maybe we could get him for cheaper than 50M with L. Hernandez coming in, who knows.

Filipe Luis has been rumoured to be discarded and Cucurella has been sent on loan.

tbh, at this point, I don't care which LB we get since Alba will be the starter, but we need a specialist and not rely on Bob and Semedo there.

Alaba is by no means a bad option.

Firpo may seem promising, but there are serious doubts about his defending, and also his injuries.

While Alaba is quite underrated imo, rarely gets injured, very good defensively & offensively, has everything you need in an LB. He isn't as fast as Alba or Firpo but he isn't slow by any means.
