Time for rotations. Umtiti, Vidal and Malcom are sure starters. Messi shouldn't play.

It's a great opportunity to try the Umtiti-Lenglet duo with Piqué given a rest.

Have we ever succeeded with rotations this season though? It feels like we're always subbing on our starters early in the second half.

    Why shouldn't we be?

It's not that they are tired now, it's about preventing accumulation of fatigue ahead of the more important games.

We have a great squad. We should be able to rotate 2-3 different players every game and still win.

Valverde has done a good job keeping players fresh in January and February but just because forum's darlings (Malcom, Alena) don't play regularly people think Valverde is not rotating enough.

Suarez has played every game. Messi as well, every game he wasn't injured.

    1. we have just won La Liga and we can rotate or do whatever we want now
    2. we have qualified to a CDR final and we won't lose the energy in a CDR anymore
    3. we have only 5 matches of a CL left

All of that achieved and players (except Rakitic) don't look particularly dead tired.

    Bad, bad guy, this EV.
    He is doing everything wrong.

His tactics are wrong (won La Liga again, promoted to a CDR final, 5+1 matches away from winning a treble)
His rotations are wrong (the same, he is cruising in all 3 competitions)
As @Messi983 said, EV's only mistakes and why forum is angry are:
    1. not playing beautiful
    2. forum's favorites Malcom and Alena NOT playing more
    3. and other 3 forum's favorites Dembele, Arthur and Semedo being subbed off as 1st picks in every match instead of forum's black sheeps like: Suarez, Rakitic, Pique, Roberto

If EV played a lineup ALL THE TIME consisted of Malcom, Messi, Dembele - Arthur, Alena, Busi - Alba, Lenglet, Pique, Semedo, I doubt that people would whine THIS much about rotations.
So, honestly, this is NOT only about rotations.
    This is:
    1. about rotations
    2. AND about more playing time for forum's favorites

Lol all this "forum's favourites not playing". I'm not complaining of the lack of playing time for the "favourites", I'm complaining about the actual playing time of our core players who also happens to be our oldest ones.

I just want to prevent another Roma incident from happening. Suárez himself said he shouldn't have played the game before we were kicked out.

They might not look tired now, but the question is if they can keep a high tempo for 90 mins in a crucial CL quarter/semi final game.

    You guys are unbelievable.

    1. We are going to go to a period where we will play a match every 3.5 days and you don't see why players should be rotated?
    2. BBZ himself says that Rakitic is dead tired.
    3. It is well know that Messi's groin has been overburdened and that his minutes need to be managed.
    4. "The league is won" This is the perfect reason to rotate. Not an excuse not to.
    5. We need our squad players to be match fit, not just our starting 11. Because injuries and cards happen and players get tired. But you expect Malcom to contribute when shit hits the fan, when he has been given crap minutes all season long.
    6. Players don't look particularly tired? I guess the slow-motion football can be fully blamed on tactics then.

ps. Fuck your forum favourites argument.

    How is that an argument:
    1. not to rotate
    2. not to focus on CL?

You sure about that? Try removing your rose tinted glasses, before even try to take a dig at others.

And you said Valverde has clearly rotated because the overall minutes were lesser than last season. There were more injuries this season. Players still play every single minute when they are not injured.

Don't ever think Malcom is seen as a "darling", just someone who could provide great options while keeping the attacking front fresh. Yet Coutinho, Dembele and Malcom are "rotating" with each other, while the oldest attackers play every time. People aren't dumb to see that, honestly, but at least you tried.

Maybe the next excuse you can use is a great "result" against Villarreal.

There was no need to rotate against Espanyol. There was an intl. break where Alba, Pique, Busquets, Roberto only played 1 game in 2 weeks against a garbage team without breaking a sweat. Messi played 1 game, Suarez sat at home, Lenglet sat at home, no one traveled far. If anything they need to get back into rythm. Rakitic was the sharpest player on the pitch last game despite being the only player who played 2 full games during the intl. break. Funny, eh?

"Roma incident" didn't happen because players were tired but because they were not motivated and focused enough. The same thing that happened in previous years in away games against Juve, PSG (though we've made a come-back), AM twice,... Based on the CL games so far this season it seems everyone really wants to win it so I don't expect half-assed effort from Messi&Co. at Old Trafford and possibly Anfield in semi-final.

    1. We won't play all games over the next two weeks with the same lineup.
    2. Raki was one of our best players against Espanyol. Not seeing tired at all. He's a yellow card away from a suspension so he could be rested vs Villarreal to be ready for AM and United though.
    3. Messi will get a rest in coming weeeks for sure.
    4. The league is not won at all. If we would drop points against Espanyol or Villarreal and lose the derby with Atletico they could be only 4-5 points behind us. Keeping them at least 7 points away is imperative if we want to rotate against Huesca.
    5. Most of our squad players are match fit (Vidal/Arthur, Semedo/Roberto - whoever doesn't start, Coutinho, Alena, Umtiti is getting some minutes after coming back from injury). Malcom is our 3rd choice RW behind Messi and Dembele who are our best offensive players so it's understandable his minutes are limited.
    6. We are playing as much as we need to win. No need to waste energy just to make fans happy.

    Exactly.
