Full name: Gabriel Teodoro Martinelli Silva

Date of birth: 18 June 2001 (age 17)

Place of birth: Guarulhos, Brazil

Height: 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in)

Playing position: Forward/Winger/Attacking Midfielder

Current Club: Ituano FC

----

17 year-old who is said to possibly be this year's 'Rodrygo'. Has had trials with us (Barcelona) and Manchester United in the past. I've never seen him play but apparently his team played against Sampaoli's Santos and beat them 5-1 with Martinelli being man-of-the-match. He's now being linked with all sorts of European clubs, like Arsenal as per today's news.

Yep. He'll probably ruin his career by going to Arsenal though. 8 mil fee doesn't automatically grant him a work-permit and he'll probably get sent on a loan carousel across Europe. Many a talent have been ruined by this approach.

If I were him I'd sign for Santos to train under Sampaoli and go the Neymar route. He's only 17, way too young to make such a leap.

Scored on his pre-season debut for Arsenal:

It turns out there was no work-permit needed since he's got an Italian passport.

Looking at this ScoutNation vid, he's a bit like Firmino with speed. Interesting player, at 18, he looks a prospect.

2 months on he's started his first games for Arsenal and scored two goals - in the league cup - against Nottingham Forest.

If you go by Twitter, my description of him as a Firmino with speed is catching on.

Lad was at it again tonight.

His second start for Arsenal, man-of-the-match, 2 goals, 1 assist vs Standard Liege. 9.1 rating on Sofascore.

Still only 18.

Arsenal probably have the best crop of young players in England at the moment.

Chelsea's are currently getting more minutes but Arsenal's have more quality I feel.

And, agent Ansu Fati is already at work here.

Watching him against Liverpool and I’m very impressed by him, just turned 18 aswell. I’m rarely impressed by players under the age of 20 but he is a top talent IMO. Him and Hudson Odoi whom I rated for some time will be top players, they are just sure bets IMO.

You seem to be impressed by every other player though

Great game and goal yesterday. From what I have seen during the last couple of months from him, he is going to be a star. Bit sad that he was on trials here but we didn't see the potential. If he keep developing at this rate, then he could easily play here soon. The South African striker type I simply love alongside guys like Lautaro Martinez.

Hudson Odoi was excellent aswell.
