Quality game..... funny all the negative guys before the game. "I'm not watching it"..... "Gonna be a boring game"

Sevilla away is hard whatever form you're in as a team. Tough first game... class 2nd half!

May this be the last time the Basque Tony Pulis starts that atrocious midfield of Rakitic, Vidal & Busquets again.

Vidal with his tactical indiscipline and his counter inviting misplaces passes, and Rakitic, a complete statue in the first half, completely negate Busquets' game.

It was Valencia all over again. Sevilla feasted in that space Vidal left behind again and again as Rakitic just stood and watched. We were lucky not to have conceded at least 4 in the first half.

But that midfield doesn't let in goals according to BBZ. Now he knows it was all down to ter Stegen.

Messi finally looking 100% fit again was the best bit of news of the day. 3 killer goals and a wonderful assist. Best player in the world by some distance.

philosopher Valverde: "Changes to at half time? We were losing, we dominated possession but nothing more. I had the feeling that we had to change, sometimes you change and you lose, and sometimes you change and you win."

That indicates that he has no fucking clue that Raki-Busi-Vidal midfield doesn't work.

Remove Messi from the lineup and the scoreline would have been different. Messi = 3 goals and 1 assist. That is synonymous with bailing Valverde out.

The problem with this coach is that he doesn't have the confidence or belief in his full squad to bench his top performers. And even when he does field so-called benchwarmers, the team oftentimes performs poorly, not because the likes of Coutinho, Dembele or Malcom are inferior, but because this coach lacks leadership and vision and fails to motivate and foster the younger players of the team. He should be instilling an attack-minded philosophy and standing behind our values of being one of the very best teams in the world. Our offense is our defense and losing is okay as long as we play by our values. Yet time and again, we draw against the likes of Lyon while playing like cowards (Mourinho style).
