Seemed obvious he was going to get promoted. Kid seems to be an incredible talent would be a stud no matter what academy he came up in. Hopefully he flourishes under Pimienta.

I think they are making the same mistake again as they did with Grimaldo.
Moriba is obviously a lot more physically competitive than 16 yo Grimaldo but his promotion to the current Juvenil A was already super fast considering Xavi Simons who is the same age still playing for Cadet A.
It's also not like Juvenil A football is too easy for him now so that it is damaging his development or something.
I wish he stays one more year in Juvenil A next season and get call-ups to the B team instead of the full promotion.

Was promoting Grimaldo really a mistake? The only thing that hampered him was injuries and we could easily attribute that more to him being injury prone than anything else. While he played for Barca B he was great and not even the most staunch Lucho defenders could justify him not being part of the first team squad in any capacity while we watched Adriano and Mathieu serve as our backups.

I think playing against adult players when he was clearly physically not prepared made him more injury prone. This is perhaps a pointless assumption at this point but he might have avoided some of those injuries if he had less physical stresses on his body. If Moriba is really fully promoted to the B team next season, it would be because it was part of his new contract which made him stay instead of footballing decision. There is no reason to rush 16 yo kid's promotion considering that it is already fast enough and also Juvenil A is currently not really a piece of cake for him.

Playing for the B team at 16 didnt effect elite talents like Iniesta and Messi.

If anything, it will be good for Ilaix as he won't be prone to rely on his physical advantages- which will be diminished. Good move.

Signs until 2022.

Just a question, why 3 year extension for a La Masia player, why not 5(which is the usual norm)?

He will be 19, if he isn't given enough opportunities(which he will not be given most probably because of age), he could leave for free. If he stayed till 21 we could have more leverage as well as more time to see how well he is.
