Do you not understand the context? 2016 was well prior to the Neymar transfer, which elevated the market massively. Coutinho/Mbappe/Dembele all went for 120m+ immediately after the Neymar move and inflation has not gone down since. 2016 is also prior to when prices started getting inflated massively for CB's and GK's as well, like Van Dijk or Kepa. Kante also moved before relative scrubs like Lukaku and Higuain were going for 80m+.

So Kante moved before general transfer fees inflated to almost twice as much for marquee transfers, and before non forward players started getting consistently outrageous fees too. In today's market, a player like Kante who was at the time one of the clear protagonists of freaking Leicester winning the title would go for a lot more than 35 mill.

Exactly. 2016 prices are irrelevant today.

Very good signing for PSG. I saw his recent games with Argentina NT and this guy is promising. Definitely a better option than Idrissa Gueye (lmao).

Plus it's a good thing for Argentina NT and for Messi that there's now an Argentinian DM playing for a top 10 european team.
Messi might finally have a decent midfield behind him with Paredes and Lo Celso.

WTF is this ? FDJ is 10 times more promising than Kanté has ever been. And that's coming from a french guy who loves Kanté.
In today's market, 2016's Kanté would cost +€70m.

Ndombele has been loaned to Lyon in 2017 with a buy option of €8m that Lyon simply activated in summer 2018. 2017's Ndombele was an unknown kid. Now he'll leave Lyon for more than €70m.
Btw Ajax bought FDJ in 2015 from Willem for €300k too.
But how are these transfers related to FDJ moving to Barça in 2019 ?

Transfers cost do determine talent level. But sometimes you can get an unknown/unhyped yet promising kid that'll develop into a beast. Like Arthur coming to Barça for only €30m. But this kind of deals are exceptions and not a common thing.

I agree with almost everything you said but de Jong was sold for 1 € + % on selling fee.
Also, Arthur was not unkwown or unhyped, he was touted as the best brazilian player and best player in libertadores while not being an attacking player. This is a rare feat for a region where attacking players are more praised and hyped at an early age.

Do you have a source for that? Hope Paredes joins your club.

I don't remember if you were the guy that wanted Paredes out of Russia.

Today, he played well again. It is good to have a press resistant and technically superior midfielder when Verratti is not playing. Of course, he is no Verratti bracket. He is a good and safe player to have.

He is very good at taking free kicks, good long balls and a good shot (we are lacking in that department since Verratti never shoots). His weakness are a lack of mobility both offensively (doesn't offer good option of pass between the lines) and defensively (he is not the best defensive player in the world).

So far, i would say a good buy from PSG. The journalists don't seem to like him though (prolly because he took Rabiot place) and keep giving him trash note. Today again they gave him a 4 while he should have got a 6 easily.

I wanted Paredes out of Russia and I'm very happy he's been performing well for you. Your description of him sounds like the Paredes that I know. He's like the lesser version of Pirlo and he needs someone to do the dirty work for him. Hope he keeps doing well for you (except vs Barca if we meet in the CL :p )

So far, he has not been outstanding.

He has a good passing in him but that is all.

I expect more from him next year with a true preparation with the team.

This guy is getting schooled by FC Nantes while De Jong has been putting in world class performances against Bayern, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Imagine believing that this guy is a better footballer than De Jong.

Lmao!

Not quotting for your joke but that goal should have been ruled as an infraction by the the Rennes player who entered the penalty area according to rule 16. But french referees are shit even with VAR.

According to Le Parisien, it seems he's not in Tuchel's plans next season and will probably leave PSG.
