As maldhowayanr mentioned , Real Madrid have 38 squad players. With how good Flo is at selling players he might end up on a sub 100 mil net spend.

Real Madrid and Benfica have reached an agreement over the transfer of the Raul de Tomas to the Portuguese club, with the move expected to be completed imminently. The Lisbon club are set to pay a sum of over 20 million euros for the forward even though Los Blancos began negotiations with a 35-million-euro asking price. The deal is only missing the final agreement between Benfica and De Tomas, which is not considered to hold any complication.

Meanwhile the clowns over at Barca are trying to go for a straight swap between Jasper and Neto.

So Varane says the teammates gave this guy a brick as a Christmas present, because of how sick they are of having to lose every battle to him in trainings and how brick-like his crosses are

In all seriousness about yesterday's match, I liked him at LCB. His physique makes him really versatile as a defensive player, could probably play him at DM and he wouldn't look too out of place if you don't ask too much of him.

I think he may be designed as LCB for 3-man defense. He's a weapon with the ball at his feet when he can quickly get into space and doesn't need to play meaningless one twos to play out of tight areas. He's strong enough to beat people 1 on 1 and get to the box whichever way he wants, but he'll near always be stopped when there's sufficient cover for his marker.

I hope we see him at LCB this month in 3-5-2/3-4-3 again due to injuries or otherwise. He brings a lot of good and actually makes the Marcelo positional horror seem bearable particularly when has Casemiro to help too. We all know Zidane loves 4-3-3 and will not have it long term, which is a fucking shame, but he may be convinced to play it more often when he sees how much better our stability is when we don't need to worry as much about CKM midfield being caught out and 3 CBs are capable as a unit at snuffing out danger.

Would love to see the following at some point again

------Eder/Nacho----Rafa----Mendy-------
Carva--------------------------------Marcelo
------Modrić/Fede--------Kroos/Case-------
------------------Marco/Eden---------------
-----Marco/KB/Mariano-----KB/Eden/Vini---

Mendy is solid enough at LB, but not very good going forward, perhaps CB is his true calling all along? He certainly has some traits that makes him suitable there.

Theo is a goner, no point even thinking. Just got to make sure we don't lose Reguilon too and live to regret it with no better offensive alternative to Mendy if we are to ultimately play 4-man system

He’s pretty decent. Defensively miles ahead of Marcelo now. If you could blend both of them.....

Marcelo hasn't even been good enough offensively, but talent is obviously there so maybe if given a stretch of games with appropriate cover, we could benefit. Except we need people on the receiving end of whatever it is Marcelo creates.

Lots to go wrong, but doing something at this point 3-4-3, 3-5-2 is better than doing nothing

Regulion has been decent for Spurs but not sure Real should be so quick to pay 45m odd to take him back.

Granted his first season but not even sure has been in the top 10 LBs in the league.

It's 45 this summer and 30 next I think? Something like that

Obviously wouldnt be a bad signing and better going forward than Mendy but hasnt stood out all that much at Spurs and not in comparison to other LBs.

Although to be fair it is his first season and some other FBs get more attacking roles in team than he would each week.
