Not even fit yet, but he still absolutely should have played. With the international break + his injury, it's been awhile since he's been playing consistently. Shouldn't rest him anymore.

1 game, 2 goals, three or more key passess and he is the problem why we recieved four goals. 4 fucking goals!?

He scored a pen. and a tap in. He was horrible with his movement and position. If he plays like that in CL quarters he is going to be invisible again no matter the opponent.

And played the pass for the penalty and played some other key passes and had some unbelievable dribbles all after only playing 2 games in five weeks

It's not like anyone was afraid that he was gonna lose his talent. He was in bad shape and it was a bad game by his standards.

Regarding the international break, I'm honestly not convinced that there's any discernible correlation between him resting and how much he runs the next game. He's come back from a rest many times looking to be in poorer shape than he was before. Likewise, him working harder than usual in a game has often meant that he was gonna run even more the next game. His workrate comes and goes in phases.

I am pretty sure that without messi in the future with the current squad quality, we are definitely not fucked like we thought. He has been out for months many times in the past few years and we have dealt with it well most of the times. It feels like when messi plays and turns invisible in the match we struggle than when messi doesn't play altogether.

Seems to be proven true time and time again.

No proof of this whatsoever. Have we ever played a champions league quarter without him. If we had and won then ye might have a point. Whereas unbeaten in the league last year until Messi wasn't playing
