Leipzig are playing some pretty tasty attacking football. Just goes to show for the nth time that you don't need world class players left and right to play well in CL. Leipzig barely have any top class players, but they are fit, hungry, run a lot, and are very well set up tactically.

Looking at the matches from last night and tonight there's not a doubt that we are the most lazy, slow and unprepared (physically speaking) team in CL. We are probably joint 3 in terms of talent and technique, but that's not nearly enough here.

Some of the players have won 3-4 CLs, 8-10 Ligas over the last 15 years.

Honestly, players who were at the top at one point will probably not leave their comfort zone and authority/power they've built up at the club over the years.

It's up to the management to not shower them with exorbitant contracts and downright silly extensions and to phase them out. (Messi, Xavi, Iniesta are the only ones I'd let choose their fate, within reason of course).

Unfortunately, even the most ruthless of clubs (RM) fall prey to the latter as evidenced by them extending their serial CL winners to 2022/2023 (Marcelo, Benz, Modric etc.). We're definitely the joint most stupid board in this regard though, combined with Bayern who let a crippled Robbery cost them year after year in the CL until it was finally enough.

Spot on. We can't compete physically in CL. It gives opponents too big edge especially Vs current Barca

I guess even Mourinho cannot make these blockhead Spurs defenders think before they do something idiotic. 10 minutes ago Aurier classic foul in a dangerous position, now Davies utterly clatters the striker.

CL is ruthless for exposing past it managers.

This will be Mourinho's third R of 16 exit in the last 6 seasons if things hold up. Other 3 times he didn't even make the CL, lol.

Capello met the same end.
