Thanks for the video link....I wanted to see the highlights of that game....
1-Kjaer:He was indeed one of world's best young Cb's and he had half of Europe chasing him,I watched a few matches for him,he lookde awesome,at the World cup he looked superb,Solid, great aerial ability,Superb long balls, sent a one for someone to score(Rommedahl I guess) agaisnt Cameroun, great passing ability, good positioning, but what the hell is going to him at the BundesLiga,He looked lost against Bayern and from the highlights he looked like a disaster against Mainz, maybe he made a wrong move or is it just Mclaren?
2-Dzeko:what a player, probably one of the best strikers in Europe,I dont know why cant Man City or any other team pay 30-40m for him,He will be set for the big move soon
3-westerman:He was Schalke's best defender and then he leaves?Hamburg are also a good team but how can magath leave him,BTW how much have they paid for him
Now really... even if Alcorconwent on to trail 3-0... it would be hard to even steal a point from them, let alone turn the result to 4-3..... what an amateur team Wolfsburg is acting.
Yep, what can i say? I had my hoped in Kjaer as well, thats why i got him for my fantasy team. Didnt see much from him at the WC, didnt he miss a game there too? Maybe he can shape up in the next weeks, otherwise he wouldnt be the first to join WOB coming from Italy with great hopes (see Barzagli).
Dzeko might still be a bit underestimated, maybe b/c hes just playing in the Bundesliga and also didnt have the chance to show his skills in an international competition (WOB only made it to the quarters of last years EL - where he didnt score). But apparently no one offered the necessary 40M (buyout cause till may). It was speculated that clubs intentionally let it run out, hoping for the price to drop, but Hoeness didnt fall for it and he had to stay. But Dzeko indeed shows that performances arent a fluke, as he just scores and scores and scores ... and with very strong skills as both goals you see in that vid are anything but easy.
Westermann cost 7.5M. He also wasnt that strong last year, although he didnt play often in his preferred position as CB (that was taken by Bordon and Höwedes). Due to his flexibility he had to play RB or DM most of the time.
Bayer Leverkusen vs M'gladbach was awesome to watch lol, 6-3 damn
Schalke with a 3rd straight defeat?...Raul, apparently, still ineffective...even in Germany
Paolo Maldini - "In my opinion, Messi should win the Golden Ball each year. He's an unbelievable player."
Schalke is shocking, but what do they expect having probably the lowest striking force out of top Bundesliga teams. Raul should have gone to USA or Qatar if he wanted to kickabout for the rest of his career and people wouldn't lose respect to his abilities.
They have trouble in their defense mostly. I mean its not a surprise that the offense isnt working already with the changes made - after discarding the long ball game on a target striker (Kuranyi), switching to a technical striker (Raul) and getting a few more ppl in (Jurado, Huntelaar). But the defense is struggling after Westermann, Bordon and Rafinha left. Metzelder is horrible and thus they concede a lot more than last year.
What the hell is happening with Wolfsburg? I was expecting them to do quite well given their side, some good acquisitions. Has McLaren struggled to make them gel so far?

I think you got it in one, FCB: McLaren.
me too. They had some unfortunate games though. 1st game saw them taking the defeat in the 92dn minute vs bayern, when they really deserved a draw in munich. Then they happened to lose after leading comfortably with 3-0 vs Mainz at home, getting unfocussed somewhere there. It could be some psychological thing after those two losses, but Dortmund (their 3rd opponent and loss) isnt a bad side either. So i still expect them to make the swing, esp. considering that they dont have to play EL matches while their opposition does.
But there are some other teams doing similarly bad: Stuttgart and Schalke both had 3 losses as well. Bayern, Bremen and Leverkusen only 4 pts.
Yeh I'd only seen the results and the standings so wasn't sure how the games had gone down. Their fixtures did look quite tough though. The table is pretty mad atmhow have the German press responded to Wolfsburg's start, is McLaren seen as under pressure?

Stuttgart might be the new Hertha Berlin if they don't do something soon, they look the worst team in the league at the moment
No, not really. Hoeness is also giving him cover.
This is a classic for Stuttgart though. I think its like that for the last 2-3 years now ... they always suck in the 1st half of the season, being on the very bottom of the table around christmas, then sacking their manager and starting to pull win after win in the 2nd half.
