Might be because the recent horrendous performances of Umtiti are because of tiredness. Also, you can combine Vermaelen with Pique since he's excellent in game reading and positioning and would cover Vermaelen if he makes mistake because of playing after long time.

Please, don't be ridiculous. Our worst bench player is better than Leganes' best player. Valverde doesn't believe in the importance of rotations too much. He even said he likes a small squad.
The guys who didn't make the squad for us are Colombia's starting CB and an ex-starter for Sevilla like Aleix Vidal. Both would instantly become Leganes' best players.

Aleix Vidal, Denis, Gomes and Paulinho wouldn't even be in the bench for clubs like Real or Bayern.

Real Madrid has Ceballos and Kovacic, we have Denis and Gomes.
