Barca coach spoke after 4-1 win against Roma.

“It’s a struggle to win every game. We got a good result, but we haven’t done anything yet,” said the Barca coach in his press conference.

“Marc-Andre Ter Stegen had some tough saves to make and Roma had very clear scoring opportunities."

“Roma are a good side, it was difficult for us to break down and get past the first line of pressure. It was a pretty even game.”

Barcelona have benefited from five own goals in the Champions League this season, compared to six from Leo Messi.

“If you don’t push forward and put pressure on opponents in their own penalty area, you don’t get own goals.”

Roma protested that they were denied two penalties, one for a Samuel Umtiti nudge on Edin Dzeko, another as the trip on Lorenzo Pellegrini might’ve been inside the box.

“I saw penalties that we weren’t awarded tonight as well. Everyone sees things their own way.”

Valverde also revealed Sergio Busquets might not necessarily play in the second leg.

“He asked to be substituted, as he was playing with pain-killing injections.”

I am glad he acknowledged that we weren't that better than Roma. Room for improvement is there.

The thing is he needs to start playing smart in league. Push harder in first 30 mins and kill the matches. Can't drag it to last minute tires our players very much and it is visible. Need much better start to matches.

I've only seen us do this a couple of times this season. The first half against Girona 6-1 at home was deadly attacking football.. Maybe down to how Girona played so open but still nothing like our last few games.

Messi and Busquets having to play barely half fit is 2013 all over again. As soon as Busquets went off Roma had their best chances and then scored.

Valverde apologists: Fans are spoilt, we haven't lost, Valverde's plan is flawless

Valverde: We know we need to be better than we are right now.

So who is right? :valverde:
