Probably obsessed with going undefeated. But yeah, very short term thinker, and selfish too - if indeed he is putting his own (possible) achievements over the club as a whole. That being said, with Busquets out, and Valverde (apparently) unwilling to use Coutinho in mid, not a whole lot of options.

Cant understand valverde on this one, playing iniesta over and over again knowing that he is your only creative midfielder when it comes to CL matches... and he is far from young

He's 33, same age as Cristiano who plays far more games than Iniesta does.

It's absolutely outrageous people having been saying this for a while now, you'd think he was in his late 30s.

Either his stamina is absolute shit or people just forget he's still in what should be his prime years, probably because he looks like an old codger.

From barca coach only what matters is trophies which valverde will deliver, when trophies will not be there, he will be gone, and he knows that obviously, and he will use the best squad every time

Yeah, but still with coutinho in the squad, i would rest iniesta a little more and keep him fresh for CL


Edit: with busi and messi out, iniesta playing should not be big concern

The fuck did I tell you that the guy will start the best players including the ones who played with Spain. If Messi didn't have those problems he'd have started as well.

33 is in no way "prime." And I'm 33 so I would know, ha ha. And comparing him to Ronaldo isn't helpful; Ronaldo is a fantastic athlete. (If overrated footballer.) Iniesta, well, he's the opposite. Just because they're the same age you can't expect him to maintain the physical conditioning of one of the naturally fittest/dedicated sportsmen around.

What the fuck is Pique doing when Vermaelen is fit and has proven to be rock solid? Valverde has been a small team manager and doesn't know the implications of overplaying the same players time and time again almost every week, especially the older guys.
