21 - Frenkie de Jong

He was pretty good, should at least have 2 assists (if his other team mates were a bit sharper).
Hopefully he can keep the upward trend. He's looking better and better. But he's still not the old Frenkie imo.

A lot of Ajax fans want him to carrying the ball forward more often. That what made him distinctive before the hype. A CB/DM that was dribbling past everyone. But he never lost the ball.
Now he's playing a bit more safe.

i have a feeling the coach instructed him to play safe from the DM sport. cant really find another reason why he stopped doing those runs

Have noticed that too. Stopped doing them after the ankle injury that kept him out for 5 months.

Could have gotten a penalty as well... as soon as he can reproduce performances like that for us we have the midfield to beat again.

Some monstrous stats from him today: 5 aerials won, 3 tackles, 9 dribbles, 3 key passes, 1 assist, 94% passing accuracy.

Pretty damn good. Voted Man of the Match too it seems. He's getting back into the form that caused the hype to go off the charts. At the perfect time too ahead of the return leg in Madrid.

In short: Weak first half, Great second half!

Every attack starts with him.
He's getting better each week.

P.S. Ajax played on artificial grass. So the football was a bit boring to watch.
