21 - Frenkie de Jong

I believe FDJ is extremely overrated but of course everyone goes with the hype. So many thinking he is a "generational talent" but the truth is he is playing in the 11th best league in the planet and produced 3 goals / 3 assist.(He was decent in some CL games) But Ok stats are not so important I agree he is a solid player but nothing special about him. He may be top 10 midfielder in a couple years and grow like Xavi but I really doubt and only time will tell once he plays in laliga. Players like Aouar are two levels above him for comparison and much cheaper. He will be lucky to get enough playing time (Messi and his friends must play) and apart from his good passing and ball retention (not that special) he is not a game changer but you know he is dutch and Cruyff was dutch so Barca will pay 85m. I have nothing against him and look forward to seeing him play because he is a youngster but does anyone really think he will play much over the seniors lol

Hey man just saying his arguments just come off as someone trying to hard to be the new BBZ on here.

:redbeard:

Pfff, if Arthur impressed you, it says more about your football brain than about the guy you berated earlier.
Arthur isn't that special at all, if players like him become starters for Barca we might just become a generic topclub like Chelsea or United.

Arthur is a good rotation player, nice first back up for midfield. We should aim higher for our first 11, like we did by signing De Jong.

Given the options we have right now, he should be playing all the big games

You clearly don't know much about Tackle then.

Look, man, I can see you're a hardcore De Jong fan, But if you think just adding him to the starting lineup will make us play better off the bat, I have some terrible news for you dude. He will likely suffer the same problems Arthur has had here.

Team with Zero movement off the ball, being chained down to having to play "DM" in the 4-3-3 having to defend with two slow ass immobile forwards in Suarez and Messi in Front of him and having two declining Midfielders in Rakitic and Busi next to him being slow and weak on and off the ball.

You will just have a repeat of this season. Nothing will change as long as we Valverde as a coach. Will he provide some good things like Arthur? of Course! but he will still get fucked by the system that Valverde has implemented

Arthur and De Jong together would automatically improve the midfield with or without Valverde. These are two mobile players who can't be dumbed down by a manager like Valverde. He can't make them forget their pass and move style and their often brilliant close ball control. They have it. Valverde can fuck it up by not playing them very often.

Arthur had a great season up until Vidal started to play well also. Then Vidal basically took Arthur's place because idiot Valverde can't bench Busi and Rakitic, who must be the best midfielders in the world for him.

The problem is that we didn't move out neither of Busi, Rakitic, and Vidal (in all honesty he deserves to stay and play here). So, we basically allowed Valverde too many options in midfield, and one of the options he has is basically keeping the same midfield core from the Roma and Liverpool humiliations. That is Busi - Rakitic. The man will never change.

Since De Jong cost a lot of money, Valverde will feel the pressure to play him, and since he always caves under pressure, De Jong will get a lot of minutes. Arthur on the other hand is in danger of being Rakitic-ed.

Valverde described in one photograph.

Support your favorite player is totally fine but showing your support by constantly putting down another player is quite shameful Tackle VN10
