21 - Frenkie de Jong

Better for him at City, more conducive for him to grow. If let him here in Barca, there's a strong tendency they'll be clueless in handling these talents.

Why are we not willing to match City’s offer is really beyond me. Do we think he is not that good to warrant 70m?

And then we will spend 40m on wastes like Rabiot. Brilliant.

He should go to City, every young player in the world should want to go to City, a year of pep as your coach will change your views of the game.

At this point our club isn't want it use to be at this point our club stands for nothing outside of trying to win.

Sigh. Guardiola aside, City does appear to have a much better vision and plan of what they want to do and what they try to become compared to us. If we don’t keep up we will be left behind.

Wherever De Jong goes it will be to be a starter. He (and De Ligt) are having their Mbappe at Monaco season this year. They have built the profile and list of suitors to demand a starting role.

I am more concerned with the PSG rumour than City at this moment. Rumour of an 80m reach out from them for De Jong. Imagine is nabbing Rabiot for free and then them replacing him in their starting 11 with De Jong.

Rabiot's price is 0 millions since his contract is expiring at summer.

Btw. we can sign both De Jong for 70-100m and Rabiot for free.

Even if he would come free, Rabiot has a gold digger mother so we will be paying top money on a piece of crap. Total waste of money and resources.

de Jong is definitely smart enough to not go to a declining PSG.

As long as City and Barca want him he won't play with farmers just to fill up his wallet.

Barca are the ones deciding de Jong's future. It's just a matter of matching City's bid and Ajax accepting.
If we get over that hurdle, he's ours, doesn't matter which other clubs are in the running.

How do you know City won't offer huge salary for FDJ? if they are ready to throw 70M (which is beyond his market value) on a player they are surely ready to pay him and his agent big money too.
It can't be FDJ or bust, BBZ has correctly pointed out this this seem to be more and more like Dembele situation, we wanted him cheap, failed, still wanted him expensive, failed, but we were hellbent on getting him so gave BVB everything they wanted. What happened next? Player struggle, and he is expensive player, so media start asking question, so more pressure on the kid and it keeps going.
There is a limit you should have when signing players from lower level leagues. If we didn't match City offer it doesn't mean we are wrong

70m isnot beyond his market value. I would be surprised if he goes for less to be honest.
Will probably be more.

De jong isnt the mental midget Dembele is. He is a hardworking, smart level headed guy. Same for de Ligt imo.
Only question is if they will live up to their potential.

City are in position to gamble. 70, 80, maybe even a 100 mil for a youngster is within their reach. We tried that once. Didn't age well.

Why would you even want Rabiot if you enjoy football. Aesthetically Rabiot is worth as much as a carrot in the supermarket. At least FdJ is enjoyable to watch. Just my two cents.
