He could be great actually, was really impressed by his goal scoring run in the CL knockouts, was arguably even more important for them in terms of scoring than all of their actual attacking players except Tadic.

Scoring goals isn't an issue with our front 3 (or 4). Picking up defensive slack from Suarez, Messi and Dembele is an issue our new attacking midfielder should be capable off. As well as making runs, creating space, diving into spaces and leading pressurizing the enemy defence.

Bingo. Griezmann is a good start with DeJong. Both very strong defensively.

But still, if we play both Messi and Suarez we cant play an attacking midfielder like Coutinho.
In the Champions League you need someone who is willing to put in energy off the ball (both defensively and attacking wise).
Van de Beek would suit, but a Vidal or De Jong in the team as a number 10 would work as well.

When he came to barca "we will play with short passes through the middle" and got all barca fans mouthwatering, he was already lying before he joined here.
Now this shit, he just has 0 shame, probably slept for 12 hours after the liverpool loss.
That's literally our primary way of creating opportunities though. Our passing and off the ball movement is not as crisp as it was during the early 2010s, but our style still does heavily depend on short passing and positional play.

its not fake. What he means is that De Jong is a player for the future while Vidal, Rakitic and Busquets are the present
..He also only has a little bit of our playing style so he should learn from the masters by watching from the bench

If he performs like he has been performing for Ajax, we should consider it a crime if he doesn't get a fair chance to a starting spot.
There surely must be a better alternative than to start busi, raki and Vidal for every single important game.
