MOM for me. Coming in to his own now in that DM position. Looks like he has been playing for Barca for years. Keep saying Vidal and Arthur should be either side of him, but not sure when we will see that 3 line up together.
Btw, he did better as a DM because it’s because he is not a advanced midfielder. He should as he has said himself play the Xavi position. The middle man in a midfield three. This means that 1) he has defensive protection to chase the ball 2) allowed to go deep for buildup.

Yes, if you want to take away his dribbling, penetration, the intensity and aggression he chase the ball with, his off ball movement and runs to create space for teammates, and go on. Both Holland and Ajax played him with a double pivot to give him defensive protection to do what he is best at.
I agree with Frenkie himself regarding the role he should play - the Xavi position, between the DM and advanced midfielder to give him defensive projection but still being able to build from deep. In other words: the position Arthur played.

Hopefully Jniice will make that Frenkie vs Dortmund comp. The ones on Youtube don't come close due to copyright restrictions.
