I mean, he's obviously overrated. Been overrated ever since he laid down on his laurels, stopped scoring in final 8/final 4 stages of the CL and settled for Bundesliga glory.

A bit like Suarez and Benzema tbh. All three were absolutely world class about 2-3 years ago. Nowadays they show it only from time to time. At least Benzema is still showing it more in important games.

Yea, well, some types are like that.

That said, significant portion of that has to be to do with having a Hull City winger as his best attacking partner and an unproven young playmaker to rely upon for service. He's not a Messi forward who will consistently take on 2-3 defenders. One on one he can be deadly, but here he's dealing with 2 at a time, because his teammates are no threat whatsoever. How many chances out of "5 goals in 9 minutes" situation were solely his own skill?
