Nice comparison. I'd like to add that last season we did well against top teams (didn't lose any match vs. top 5-6)). Hard to expect us to do that again but we'll see.

We basically lost the league because slipping against poor teams.

Comparison for Real (majority of the games they lost points this season were also tough last season (2-1 narrow wins), difference is that no late Ramos goals this season.
Standings: 11p (11-6) vs 18p (19-6), Real is going towards 85 points with same amount of goals conceded but alot less scored.

Comparison for Atletico
Standings: Standings: 14p (12-4) vs 16p (19-5). Atletico is going towards 76 points with alot less goals scored, but a few also less conceded.

Too early for any meaningful comparison. This can only be attempted after at least 10 games.

i plan on updating it after every round, never too early to start, was just curious on how we were doing vs last season compared to rivals and it is looking quite okey for now.

Have been on vacation for 2 weeks, but will keep this updated from now on. Updated with 2 last rounds for all 3 squads in first post.

Thanx mate

So last season we had same points at this stage and better goal difference. That's a surprise

Well let's put it this way, if we had exactly same schedule last season and games ended as they did, then yes, we would be at this stage. Same points, less goals scored but also less conceded.

Added also Valencia and Sevilla to complete most probably top 5 candidates. Interesting to see how completely different both teams look this season. Sevilla has suddenly turned into defensive stronghold, while Valencia is ripping teams apart in attack. Interesting to see that Sevilla is actually doing better vs similar opponents compared to last season.

Updated, Barca/Real/Valencia did better than last season vs same opponent, Atletico the same, Sevilla worse.
