It can end up a tough choice for him.
Option A: Play at one of the biggest clubs in the world with the best player of all time, but risk ridning the bench at an age where he should play as much as possible.
Option B: Play regularly at an Italian top side with ChL football and a very slim chance of a league title. If he does well there, he can easily go to a bigger club in a few seasons.
It was pretty much this exact choice Dembélé had to make 2 years ago, and we all know what happened there.

Barca stole Umtiti from them? Oh poor Roma.....Umtiti made the right decision.
Barca got Digne from Roma? Wrong. He was on loan from PSG and Roma were acting like bitches not wanting to pay much money for him when Barca came in and agreed a deal PSG were okay with.
Tell your friends to suck it up and look at their own club instead that have been penny pinching, wasting a lot of money on crap which forced their club to sell Salah for only 42m last summer to remove debt in accordance with FFP.

But at the end of the day it's just business. Roma fans will be mad and butthurt but Monchi will understand this. We don't know anything what's going on but I'd say he's already been on both sides of similar deals many times.
The most important thing here though it's Malcom. He could still choose Roma over Barça. They were in contact with him for some time, have agreed personal terms and he's probably also talked with Monchi/Di Francesco about his role in Roma.

Ask him before linked to Barca and he would claim Malcom is world class.
Ask him after the link and he will refuse to talk about him much as a player and say it shows French league is awesome as gets plundered for talents.
