Xavi for CM was what Messi is for an attacker. You don't realistically expect every new talent get to their level of greatness even in current lifetime, let alone next generation.

Reaching Xavi levels was always going to be impossible considering he's an all-time great in his position. Same with the likes of Iniesta.

Arthur can and will improve as time goes on. And you also have to look at the coaches he played under so far. Tite and Valverde are conservative coaches who like to have players drilled to do certain things and it seems under both Tite and Valverde, he's tasked with keeping posesssion and help maintain control of the Midfield while the Fullbacks/Forward line does the creation.

But it does get annoying to watch sometimes like yesterday with Brazil. It seems like Arthur and the other CMs are forced to just pass it to Neymar and let him do the rest. Same here with the pass to Messi stuff.

No but it's just a shame because he has everything to reach Xavi's level just his contribution in the final third let's hin down immensely.

Then he doesn't have everything to reach Xavi's level. Anyways, there's a long career in front of him and he already starts for Barca and Brazil. I wouldn't worry about Arthur.

Arthur is basically a one-man Midfield in terms of buildup and stuff. Paulinho is just woeful.

Edit: Well he played the whole match.

I miss seeing Paulinho play. Did he at least score? How did Arthur do, more importantly?

put on his shift. He did nothing wrong and still dared to make successful forward passes. Class player and an indisputable starter to me.
