After being allowed sufficient time to rest and then build up his fitness, Arthur has recovered from the discomfort he was feeling throughout the second part of the season with Barça. Valverde was forced to take him off in practically every LaLiga contest as of a result of this. Arthur was given the first two weeks of the season off to ensure he was protected for the upcoming campaign. The Brazilian lives a healthy lifestyle and is always open to new ideas and suggestions from the coaching and fitness teams.

I’m the biggest Valverde hater, but can’t really blame the man for not playing Arthur at the end of last season. Because it was pretty obvious that Arthur had physical issues, that’s why his form dropped (and some guys jumped on the occasion to finally hate on him). However, even injured he should have played much more at Anfield, he would have been 10 times more useful than Rakitic. Midfield got smashed at Camp Nou, it was so dumb to play the same 3 dudes at Anfield 1 week later.

At Anfield, Barca looked so much better once Arthur got on the pitch. Valverde should have subbed him in at the half time at least. I believe second half disaster could have been avoided with Arthur.

Watched Nigeria match. Nothing to write home about. Brazil was playing in 5th gear and didn't even try. Arthur just strolled around safe pass merchanting.

Can't blame him for a bad game after that fucking unnecessary national team trip to Singapore. More than 20k km of travelling, more than 30 degrees and very high humidity. Must have been very demanding for his body.
