  that pic ARTHAVI

I know right. I saw it on twitter, it gave me a good chuckle so I nicked it and posted here for a laugh.

Just seen that Neymar and Arthur are hanging out together in Barcelona. I do not like that one bit. Arthur does not need to be influenced by this classless twat.

My brother, who lives in Barcelona, said he lost count the amount of times he saw Neymar and his mates stumbling off drunk off nightclubs there.

Arthur is too talented to be a wasteman like Neymar and live this worthless faux-celeb lifestyle that the attention seeking Neymar loves.

Don't like that either. Would think that piece of shit would be persona non grata in Barcelona but Catalans seem not to care.

Neymar had so much potential. I think he had too fun life to dedicate his life to football. He is never going to be the best, unless he changes his living habits and attitude. Like Xavi said, grow up.

They're obviously good mates so why shouldn't he socialise with him. It's what mates do.
I'm so glad that he's slotted seamlessly into our midfield. So long as he keeps up his performances there shouldn't be a problem.

Neymar doesn't love the game the way most players do. He said he doesn't really watch football. He obviously enjoys playing but not sure the total dedication is there

Why are we talking about Neymar?

Anyways, the good thing is that Arthur 'deficiencies' are totally workable, passing between lines is a very practiceable drilling thing, and he's still 20. Dribbling in tight spaces and turning are innate abilities.

Technically he's 22 but I agree with the rest of your post though.

He's even pretty unique in Brazilian standards as well. In Brazil, they produce a lot of CAMs, B2B and even Destroyer like DMs but Arthur's profile? nah that's pretty damn rare. Which is why a lot of Brazilians are so hyped up about Arthur is because he's posseses a very unique skillset that can be a big piece to the National team.

Arthur is Neymar's mate at the Seleção. So the friendship is needed. I don´t think he will be like Neymar however, in character. He NEVER was. And Neymar ALWAYS was like that. Neymar was 17 and there was already brazilian coaches saying the media was creating a "monster" and even there was a spat with a Santos coach that ended up costing the Santos coach his job.

-----------------------------

He can score too. He had started getting closer to the box this year when the coach asked him to do so. Scored 4 goals from March to June, as he returned from injury after 100 days without playing since the Libertadores final against Lanús (Arg), and then there was the World Cup and soon after he left for Barça.

He played 18 matches for Grêmio, from March to June before the World Cup.

As you will see, the goals scored this year, one was a possession and dribbling in a very tight space in the box, without barely moving, after getting a low cross.

Another was a goal kicking the ball on first touch.

The third was a goal running half the pitch after getting a shoulder pass from Jael. More importantly... it was in the biggest brazilian derby, the Gre-Nal.

The fourth was a nice, curved, low shot goal on Santos, for the brazilian league.

imho, as Arthur gets to know his mates better, and starts seeing them as mates, instead of superstars from TV, he will feel more confortable in trying to score himself, or a long pass, etc.

back in the 80s or 90s, he would have played with and against some of the best in Brazil. Nowadays, not so much. So you have a good opportunity to dribble or shoot at goal... but then you see Messi and Suarez and Coutinho upfront. You probably think "gee, I am only arriving here... if I miss this, when I had a chance to pass to god-II, he will bash me, and the fans will bash me... I will play it safe and pass".

Attackers are usually different. They are brazen and risk takers by nature. But midfielders and defenders will be more conservative and cautious.

And let's not forget about this banger either:

As the season goes by, I would like to see Arthur getting himself in more advanced positions and perhaps taking some shots from distance as well. If Rakitić, Coutinho and Arthur are all threats from outside the box, it'll force our opponents to step forward and close down their shooting opportunities whenever they get in advanced positions, which could create space for Messi and Suárez. Having goalscoring threats and potential in the midfield is always extremely valuable.

does really well at maintaining pressure which i would attribute highly to why we are dominating the possession and midfield

but his final pass isn't that great, needs improving
