Wouldnt have benched him after another good preseason and put dembele on his side. But now its almost too late....
Even Roberto struggles a bit with messi playing RW on paper.

In the preseason:
Rafinha played awesome
Roberto played awesome as a pivot
Arthur played awesome
Semedo was very good
Malcom was very good
Lenglet way very good
Munir was okish

You have to ask yourself: are all these players THAT good? Or the opponents were a crap and played with mixed lineups and our squad players were giving 120%?

Remember: Semedo played well in a preseason.
But Roberto also played awesome as a pivot.
And Rafinha was the best player.

Then, when La liga matches came:
Semedo sucks again.
Roberto is bad as a midfielder, and he was flying all over a pitch in a preseason.
And Rafinha is a good old average Rafinha, unlike that guy from preseason.

Take that into an account also regarding preseason.

For a team which enjoys control and struggles under pressure when attacked, Arthur might be a better defensive sub than Vidal. Solid defender himself, might find it easier to kill the game when we're up.

No he didnt suck in the first laliga match before benched. Thats pure lie. But hey lets no start another discussion in this thread...
Just hope arthur wont end the same way.

He was indirectly at fault for the chances we created at the end of the game including some of the goals. He's not splitting the defense with a pass yet, but he finds the open man in the pocket of space so easily, and when that man is Messi you get a goal scoring opportunity.

His swiveling in midfield opens up so many opportunities to keep the ball moving through the area quickly and efficiently. Arthur is the man!
