What I don't get is how can Gremio treat Barca like a little bitch, and don't even want to negotiate the price. No other team is even interested in Arthur, only Barca, and yet they are toying with Barca. Barca should play hardball, and put an ultimatum, either he comes in the summer for a reasonable price, or we find another player.

Do you really think that Barcelona is the only club that wants Arthur? If he was not great, we wouldn't go after him. The other clubs are just observing this negotiation as the hyenas they are, if things don't go well, they will jump after Arthur one after the other. They are standing still just because is us, FREAKING BARCELONA, that are negotiating with him. And we were so desperate that we buyed the preference of the player, that is how great we evaluate him.
As to why Gremio is cold with us, is because we already stole one young prospect from them. The photo of Arthur wearing Barcelona's jersey without their autorization dont help at all.
The problem is not Arthur alone... Gremio is angry with Barcelona because of Manu (11-12 years old). The boy is supposed to be a genius, and you guys took him away without any negociation
In Brazil, 2~3 years ago, Gremio started trying to play passing the ball, not like Barça (who could?), but they are trying. So i think that more good brazilian players who plays for Gremio who could work in Barça's game will show up as years pass by. I expect this to happen more times, you guys shoudn't fight with Gremio. Barcelona MUST try to stay in good terms with Gremio.
Gremio is a big team in Brazil. They also launched Ronaldinho Gaucho and Douglas Costa in football. Actually, Luan from Gremio can also play as a false 9... He is great too.

LOL at other clubs standing still because of Barcelona. So you say that if Barca tried to buy Mbappe in the summer, both Real and PSG would stand still and wait. The same like City stood still when both clubs were trying to sign Gabriel Jesus. Don't be ridiculous, since the hype around Arthur started there were no other interested clubs in him. If Arthur was a generational talent like most of this forum believes he is, all the big clubs would be after him, and most of them would have no problem with paying the release clause right away. Arthur is a big gamble, that is why no other big club is interested in him. He has as much a chance to flop like he has to succeed with Barca.

We don't want to negotiate because we don't need to. For the first time in the last 15/20 years we earn more than we spend. So we don't need to sell any player, specially him.
Barca offered less than the release clause, Gremio said no, Barca offered more, Arthur said that he wanted to go to Barca, Gremio accepted. But, we asked him to stay until the end of our season, he said yes and Barca agreed.
It's simple: we don't want and we don't need to sell Arthur, Barca needs him as soon as possible, why would Gremio lower the price? The deal is done, if Barca wants to change it, they just have to pay the release clause and Gremio can't stop him of leaving in summer.
Other clubs are not in for Arthur because him to Barcelona is done and dusted. The only question is of when.
Much like Griezmann, no rumours of any PL moves, not even from AS and Marca. Because it is done.
Back to Arthur, pretty sure FifaPep would be in for him this summer if we werent so quick for once.

Before we struck a deal for Arthur, the likes of PSG,Monaco,United and Real were interested in him. Heck Monaco supposedly made a bid that was greater than our offer but Arthur wanted to come to us.
UOL also reported like a week ago that Tite had a discussion with Pep, about Fred and told him that Arthur was a better talent which led to pep having second thoughts about Fred but by that time We had already struck the deal for Arthur.

This! Gremio would actually receive less money if Barça just activate the release clause. Arthur and his family own 30% of his rights which would leave Gremio with only 35 Million. Instead of the 39 Million they’re entitled to now including variables.
This is an easy deal to get over the line if they want him in the summer instead of the winter.

he has a release clause we got it for 20m less if we waited until december, gremio has no reason to sell so why would they accept less than what they value him

The "we are Barcelona and everyone bows before us" thinking is exactly how the board is thinking.
Maybe 7-8 years ago clubs and players were thinking like that, but now theres alot of much more powerful teams out there than us, either be it by money, or project.
Players go to PSG for the money, or ManC to play under Peps project.
That beeing said, there were several clubs interested in Arthur. United and City were both interested in him, even saw some rumours from PSG.
But for once, we actually started early.

Arthur is a done deal, but we just got Arthur easily because of the club we are. If we come strong for the players that we want, were going to get them. Everyone knew that Arthur also wanted us.
For me, the problem is more the targets that we are chosing and the goods prospects that we are not going for (like Isco).
My english is kinda bad, dont know if you guys are understanding what i mean
