Only goal stats are the worst of his career. And subjectively it's forgivable for many reasons (new club, new culture, new setup, new tasks + lack of rhythm)

Assists are near average considering the amount of minutes played in a season.

He does need to produce more than he is. But you'd be kidding yourself to imagine he'd produce 20 goals or something silly, which I think a few weeks ago you set as a 'decent' achievement - would be his league career high. Not that kind of a winger. Not brought in for that.

I dunno, I feel like Madrid are a way more attacking team than the Chelsea teams he played in. Would like to think if i was a Madrid fan that he’d get a good couple of goal scoring chances every game he plays. No reason why he shouldn’t finish a few of them too. Let’s see next season.

This 'way-more-attacking-team' has just had the worst scoring season in god knows how long, whether you consider Hazard as part of the team or if you exclude him from it. Let's not forget this is happening under a manager who doesn't employ a consistent system and never repeated a lineup this season in back-to-back games (or whatever that stat was).

Look, we want him to score more and we need him to score more. But he didn't do this on his own, and if he did, it usually didn't just happen because he willed the ball into the net. Not that kind of player. He'll get some of those too, if he stays healthy. Health is the first thing, then playing time, then assessment of what he brings. He's 30 and doesn't have all that much time before he gets even slower than he is, but that's what the club signed up to. And they knew it. Else if they expected ridiculous numbers they'd have not hesitated when Chelsea asked for more the season prior.

Used to really love this player when he was at Chelsea, especially his early days but now he's a shadow of that player. He never takes players on anymore, and looks to have lost that spark in his game. Maybe he has got comfortable on his big wage in Madrid which I guess as a Barca fan I should be happy about. Shame though, once a very entertaining player to watch.

Martinez said Hazard's ankle is basically a bum chronic thing he will have to treat for the rest of his playing days. Don't think Perez will ever buy a dude over 27 anymore

According to Belgian newspaper La Derni?re Heure (have no idea if/how reliable they are) Madrid will pay 160m for Hazard. :papaperez:

Eden Hazard transfer scam: narrowly foiled scam!

She is said to have victimized Real, the Tubize club and the German bank IBB around the compensation provided by Fifa for the formation of Eden when he was 12 and 13 years old.

A possible 600,000 euro scam, staged around Eden Hazard, which allegedly victimized Real Madrid, a German bank and AFC Tubize where Eden made his debut, has been foiled. Eden Hazard, however, was not informed of the business lawyer battle that took place this summer between Tubize, Madrid and Friedrichsafen, where the headquarters of the Internationales Bankenhaus Bodensee are located. The information is confirmed by the advice of the amateur club of Tubize, specialist lawyer Guy San Bartolome.

The case revolves around two years of training for Eden Hazard at the Brabant club, and his transfer from Chelsea to Real for the sum of 160 million euros. The amount has obviously whetted the appetites of Korean nationals.

When Chelsea transfer Eden to Real for 160 million, Tubize knows he will receive twice 0.25%, which is still 800,000 euros. The Madrid club must not pay them all at once, but in proportion to the payments to Chelsea. Real, paying 40 million in 2019, 56 million in 2020 and the remaining 64 million in 2021, must pay 200,000 euros to Tubize in 2019, 280,000 in 2020 and 320,000 in 2021.

Don't know. But then again when you see how much Chelsea is spending during this crisis (when all clubs have lost a lot of revenues) I'd guess everything is possible. It's true they've had transfer ban last summer so they could keep their money but still they could've bought Werner for a difference between officially reported Hazard's transfer fee and this rumoured one.

Chelsea played Madrid for fools. I love it. Best thing when you do bad transfers is to see your rival doing the same.

Transfer was 100+50 in incentives in the first place. Not surprising it's a bit more.

Deftly misreported news where people just break down fees based on the final number.
One of the bonuses is winning La Liga so that's been paid through and probably prompted the report.

That report claims 160m not with incentives.

If they paid 160m for Hazard at 28 with one year left on contract and now appears to have a dodgy ankle...that is ridiculous.

Up there with Barcas poor transfers and probably worse.

They will have paid almost 300m for Jovic, Hazard and Eder last summer. Madness.
