Leon Goretzka

The sad thing is, last season there was talk how Goretzka will go to Bayern for free, and Schalke did nothing about that. The rules say that you can not talk with a player until he has 6 months left on his contract, why not sue Bayern for that, and get them transfer banned. All Bundesliga teams are Bayerns bitches, they give them their best players for free and for super cheap prices. Bayern is the only club in the world that has no domestic rivalry.

The problem is it is hard to prove that Bayern talked to him before he had 6 months left on the contract. Both would deny it.

What Schalke should have done was to sell him last summer knowing that he didn't want to extend his contract. Unless of course if he refused to go to any other team except Bayern like Lewandowski did.

Again it goes to show the monopoly Bayern enjoys over buli players and German talent. They won't face any serious challenge any time soon.

Clubs should do this: anti Bayern policy.

1.5 years before the contract ends they get the following option:
- renew
- get sold in the summer (abroad)
- go to the reserves for a year (and a half) where they can be ballboy or walk laps around the field all for a year.

Sure players will be less eager to sign but they can fuck off if they dont like it. Bayern wont like it but who cares if the ambition is to overthrow them.
Its the only way for teams like Schalke/Dortmund/Leverkussen to beat Bayern. After a few decades new geberations of kids will grow ip to want to join your club rather than just Bayern.

It is not practical. If a player is good enough to the point that warrants interest from Bayern and the current club wants to renew him, chances are the current club can't afford to demote that player to the reserves while getting paid. The club will need him to play for them. Also, what if there are no other suitors from overseas? In addition, the player's own will matters a lot, I don't think you can force a player to join a team that he doesn't want to join.

While Bundesliga is getting less and less competitive, they still managed to get a new TV contract that is worth 4.6billion euros starting this season, only second to the EPL. La Liga is really doing a poor job promoting the league, being a much more competitive league.

I think it is practicak with a no player is above the club mentality. If there is no interest from other clubs than the player should rebew. It should be clear before anyone joins that its not possible to go to Bayern easily. Dortmund should have done exactly that with Lewa for example. You dont think any Atletico player thinks they can easily join Real? Or any of us for that matter. But for Bundesliga clubs it should be more clear due to Bayerns monopoly.
A player is not forced to join say Liverpool if he wants Bayern but then it requires the hard road of the reserves. Just be firm in that position and stick to it and in the end it will pay off. If push comes to shove any player will prefer to resign/join another club than Bayern than go trough the reserves. Especially if you now that beforehand and the whole club has the ambition and mission to overthrow Bayern.

they might not have a rival, but no French club would bend over backwards for them. Lyon/Marsielle will sooner put a stick in their ass then give players to PSG for free

Monaco has just this year offered a loan deal to PSG so that they can fair better with their FFP. How nice of them, wasn't it?

They won't sell to Barca after the Silva and Veratti thing tbf. But still no one giving them players for free

Silva and Verratti aren't Monaco players. And the clubs can't decide where a player that is out of contract can go. That's not how bosman ruling works.

That's why you don't let player contracts go to the last year like that. Lewa would have and could have been sold, Schalke could have sold Leon too, but both are going/went for free. Look at Bilbao, they don't give a fuck, you either get buyout paid, extend or sit on the bench for a year. No self respecting player will be willing to do that and they will either move or extend
