De ligt has been linked longer with us than Eder Militao with RM.

And, we took it to last minute to sign De Jong, Dembele & Coutinho, which mustn't be the case.

You're right that it was easier for Real Madrid into sign Eder Militao, but if we are hell bent on signing De Ligt, De ligt prefers us over others, then I don't see why it wouldn't have happened by now.

The most probable case is either we are negotiating a lesser fee, or we are still skeptical of whether he is needed or not.

Always find it funny when people think that good relations will lower the price. You think Overmars will be like 'yeah, let me lower the fee a couple millions cause Barca is so nice. Sure another team offered 5m more but I want him to go to Barcelona and prefer to screw my employer out of a couple of million because I am a fanboy of a club I played at for 2 years'

It would even be downright fraud if he did that. He gets judged based on the fees he gets. I can imagine he dreams of getting a job himself at Barca. Like they would give him a job when barca management feels like they bought MdL at a bargain price

I’ve seen reports today suggesting that PSG have blown everyone away with a massive contract offer AND Juventus have GUARANTEED him a starting place !!

Why would any toplevel talent prefer juventus. They will win the leauge no matter what. Same with PSG.

Bartomagic if true. I was kinda neutral about him, but last couple of years he has delivered far above good. Why is it he isnt campaigning for another stint?
