Ernesto Valverde - V1

Horatio

You're welcome
📊 | Yesterday was Valverde’s 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣th game without a loss with FC Barcelona (out of the 1️⃣0️⃣9️⃣ games Valverde coached the team). 🔴🔵 That's an undefeated % of 91.74%... That is atleast 13% higher than any other manager that has coached Barcelona (minimum 100 games).💉

Haters you alive?

Haters will then counter with winrate which might be lower because of the number of matches he equalized.

Knights of the order of Valverde should then retort with showing how he has never lost and mostly won against top-table teams.

Interesting stat. Statistically, he looks ok. Trouble occurs if you like to watch football though.

Haters will then counter with...

Real sucks today.
Atletico sucks today.
Sevilla sucks today.
All La Liga's teams and European opponents suck today.

During Pep, on the other hand, all of our opponents were in their best form in their history and played with 14 players on a field.
Today, everything is easy and it has nothing to do with Valverde :valverde2:

Last year, Valverde received criticism for not rotating enough during the latter stages of the season. Then we got knocked out against Roma. Criticism intensified.
Fast forward one year, the response by Valverde has been to rotate the whole damn team before tomorrow's game against Man U.

This approach reminds me of a sulking 5 year old kid who has just been told by his parents that he has to clean his room. My bet is that key members of Barcelona approached him about rotating the squad and this is his response!!!! Why can't Valverde just rotate a few key players, so that everyone learns to play in harmony and the entire squad feels like a key member?

Statistically:
1. Barca won 1 Champions league title in 106 years before Messi.
And 4 Champions league titles in the next 14 years with Messi.
2. Barca won 9 La Liga titles in the last 14 years since Messi started to play regularly.
On the other hand, without Messi, for example, Barca won the exact number of La Liga titles (9) from 1960 to 2005.
So, Barca won 9 La Ligas in 45 years before Messi.
And 9 La Ligas in 14 years with Messi.
You do realize that every single coach who had Messi had an insane cheating codes? Rijkaard, Pep, Lucho included?
3. Out of Barca's 5 CLs, the only coach ever who won a CL without Messi was Cruijff.
4. If Pep again doesn't make it this season with City, the best coach in the world (by our posters) will have 0/6 CL wins without Messi.

So, if everything what EV does is only about Messi, then the largest part of our recent history, Pep and Lucho is also: mostly on Messi, isn't it?

my man, good post, but this analysis is like 'discovering' gravity in 2019 and claiming you're Newton.:valverde:

Yes, but Messi was still developing under Rijkaard and mostly under Pep. He is a finished product under Lucho and he is a Goat player and a coach under Valverde.

Do you think Messi would be the Messi of today if let us say Valverde was coaching Barca under Laporta leadership instead of Pep? Messi won't even be starter until maybe 2010/11. The answer is quite obvious really. ;)

Not a bad post if you think Barca since 2005 was Crystal Palace + Messi.
