when u keep saying this loss is the odd one out way too many times.. its no more odd, its the norm. Valverde is a coach with an approach to the game, but clueless as regards the intricacies of tough football matches, let alone motivation and physical preparation which also seems to be an unspoken of problem.

The thing is that Pique-Bob-Rakitić-NonExistingMessi right side is a disaster waiting to happen. Today was a prime example of that. Other coaches like Michel, Spaghetti and Setien have seen this before him. It's been 3 games in a row when the opposite team is actively targeting our right side and what does he do? Nothing. We have been somewhat covered vs Inter and Rayo when we played with defensively aware wingers. Now with Messi, we are just waiting to be shafted.

From one type of mid-table mentality to another. Last season it was conservative, careful and boring football. This season, it's been unsophisticated, naive and careless football.
No accountability for the positioning of our midfield. Busquets and Rakitic spend half the game either struggling to get back and make up for carefree positioning or walking around catching their breath when we had possession, so that no flow could be established.
No effort to control the game whatsoever. No coolness on the ball and no cohesive pacing in attack. Especially with Rakitic, it's very much either passing it backwards or going for a risky all-or-nothing ball forward. There's no general flow or 'building' to it.
