That was a great start post-renewal. If he starts his preferred lineup, meaning all the seniors starting and playing the full game, thus having zero rest before the away game against Lyon 72 hours later, I might rethink my standpoint in regards to hoping that the team wins each single time. Fun aside, I expect to see some rotations at least. He also talked about wanting to see Todibo in action as soon as possible. Let us see. Hoping for the best but prepared to be disappointed as most often is the case.

4 levels of coaches:

1.) Master level: Pep

2.) Very good level: Tuchel, Ancelotti, Mou,

3.) Good level: Sarri, Conte, Fatih Terim, Jardim, Heynckes

4.) Average level: Valverde, Zidane, Kovac, Pellegrini

Barca needs atleast a coach from the third level to win the Champions League. Its almost impossible to win a coach with an average coach unlike you have M-S-N (14/15) or Modric-Ronaldo-Ramos in top form (2016-2018) or just luck of the century (Chelsea 2012)

Yeah... well... let's hope we win some titles while playing average football... which is the best you could realistically expect under a manager like Valverde. Not remotely happy that a Barcelona manager is considered acceptable for not being terrible these days.

The way I see it this team deserves the best. And we are getting the best 'canned soup' as far as the managers are concerned. Our aim should be way higher than a manager who's been exposed in the Champions League. It's just a shame that Arthur and Frenkie de Jong will be managed by someone who isn't fit to even carry Pep's daily coffee.

I've seen worse, and I've seen better. Perfect phrase to characterize Ernie. Problem is Valverde is not as terrible as to be sacked, and not as great as to lead the team to great victories. Which means we will be stuck into moderate success until this guy screws up big time. This board is so fucking vision-less, that the only way Ernie will get sacked if he screws up to the level of Lopetegui.

The difference between Madrid and Barca is that their mistakes where way more obvious than ours. I'd rather we had a horrible manager for 6 months, than someone like Ernie for 4 years.

We could dominate the world with our team. Not just Spain. That's the big regret. Other than that, we will still be be well served as fans by this team for some years in the future. In spite of Valverde, not thanks to him. But it could be so much better under a top manager.

Maybe on good level but not higher. Yes he won the CL three times but beside of 16/17 Real Madrid wasnt the best team in that competition. They won because of Modric who just controlled the midfield like a magician and Ronaldo who scored like crazy braces and hattricks against Juve, Bayern, Atletico, Paris Saint Germain....

Zidane is a great manager. No doubt about it. His 2016-17 Madrid is the best I've seen in 20 years. Even as a Barca fan, I love Zidane. Just the type of personalty I connect to. Even more than Pep, who has some behavior patterns I absolutely despise.

It's quite amazing how destructive Barca were in the late 90s. Sold Ronaldo after one season. Could have Zidane, but didn't want to sign him because he would cost "too much money".

Obviously instead of signing one quality player who could change the team they went on to sign multiple bums for the same amount eventually.

Those tendencies are never gone for real mind you. They are more or less visible at times, but we are the same club we were 30-40 years ago. I'd say most of our socios are the same ones who kept Gaspart in office through all those bad years.

Don't know why, but seems to me our socios are old dudes who don't smell stinking shit until they're covered in it.

The difference between Real Madrid and Barcelona is that the former have found a way to success by being ruthless and at times cold while Barca often are too hesitant on making key decisions or try to cheapen it out.
