Nelson Semedo

the current crop of rb's is just a bit shit at the moment. There's hardly largely superior alternatives. TAA (probably never leaving liverpool, certainly not while klopp is there), hakimi (unavailable), who else is there?

Serghei, about your argument about money returned.

We wanted to rejuvenate our midfield.
We bought Arda, Gomes, Denis, Paulinho, Arthur.
4 years later, more or less we still play with Raki-Busi.

So, we haven't lost money on these guys in terms of transfer fees.
But we lost money on wages, agents, bonuses, taxes.
We lost 4 years for nothing.
We lost CL titles.
And now with new players like Frenkie, we again have to go through the same process of waiting and him learning the system.

We bought Semedo to be a starter.
A guy was benched by Roberto who is not even a RB for two years.

@Birdy, Semedo is the worst RB since Gaspart's era of Reiziger and Gabri.

We play Raki Busi because we don't have money. And we don't have money because of multiple failed 100m+ signings.

Arda, Gomes, flops. No doubt.

Denis? Irrelevant.

Semedo, totally not a flop and hilarious to suggest he is.

Paulinho? Not a flop. On the contrary, he played better than almost all predicted.

BBZ is right.

Technically Semedo is a flop, he was bought to finally replace Alves, and yet he couldn't win a place over Sergi, who is not a natural RB. Semedo is an average player, he is a flop, because the club expected much more from him. The same as Gomes, Arthur and Denis are flops, the club got the money back, but the players didn't perform like it was hoped.

Meh player. Got ignored a couple of times by Messi, mostly cuz the team knows he doesn't have an ounce of creativity in him.

Everytime he makes a run, no one is in the box. It must be really frustrating for him. He would fit really well in a system like Pep’s city. Ideally Roberto is a better fit at RB for this slow/lethargic Barca

braindead in attack as usual

Granted, he is devoid of attacking flair but even then, how many times did he make a run without getting picked for a pass? How many times did he outsprint the whole team and had to stop because he was surrounded by 3-4 Napoli players but none of our players? How many times does he have good options ahead of him when Messi and Suarez are camped in the middle of the pitch?

Semedo is not world class but when the system and players are the complete opposites of what his strengths are then I can't blame him that much. He is what he is.
