They had this prize before it merged with the Ballon d'or. In the grand scheme of things it's France Football's prize that emerges from a nearly random magazine, although it happens to be the historic prize.

It says that Ronaldo will win The Best (FIFA award) so it might be correct. Coaches and captains vote for those who they favorite more, and ofc, for those who have more/better trophies, in this case - Ronaldo.
