it was after a very long time i saw him giving a through ball assist ( Kovacic goal vs RSD) . Such a rare sight these days .

What probably is the most idiotic and annoying thing in football these days is that people will react to the contrast between Messi's yesterday's performance and to those given by Ronaldo this evening and conclude the quality.
It takes just one game for Ronaldo to be called great, while many are blind to whatever Messi does in consistent fuking manner whole year long. Football.

opposition fans are jealous of messi and barcelona, both gold standards (though with the great lucho at the helm, we are fast turning copper lmao). whenever we lose big or messi has a stinker, everyone loses their minds. ronaldo has been involved in two 0-4 losses last 2 years versus us and atletico yet all that is easily forgotten.

He had a pretty great game yesterday. Its so rare to see him as a playmaker.

Still doesn't negate the fact that he has been crap this entire season.

Barca's early CL exit has pretty much guaranteed Ronaldo his 5th Ballon D'or in February. Messi won't win it now and Real could easily win La Liga and CL and Portugal Confederations. He only needs to win one of them with Messi restricted to the relatively worthless Copa Del Ray.

Messi would have to do something individually amazing like score 90 goals again like 2013.

Can't even score against his favourite opponent these days. At this rate, it will be the first time in forever that neither Messi or Ronaldo wins the Ballon d'Or. The goals was all he had left in him, but now he can't even do that.

don't do this to yourself man. he could score 30 goals all season and if real wins liga + CL, he'll be a lock in for ballon. his people and PR will cite his team ethic.
