how old was Ronaldo when he arrived at La Liga? That's the relevant fact if you want to compare the two.

Very slightly, goal ratio Messi 1,06 and Ronaldo 1,05, basically the same. Assists, however, a rather clear edge for Messi.
Overall since 2009, Ronaldo with a slightly better scoring rate though, counting all competitions.

Ronaldo has a slightly better goal ratio since 2009, if you count all competitions.

When they retire no one will look at “from when he started” Etc.. it will be overall career goals/games which Messi is well ahead in ratio.
