If Neymar is a shit player then why pretty much everyone on this board (except BBZ, Bojan and dakt as far as I know) wanted him to stay last summer?

This is all fantasy, unbacked by reality. No player has won the award that doesn’t play in Spain in over a decade. Therefore, you haven’t the slightest clue what a player would need to do to usurp the throne because you haven’t seen it.

This decade has been dominated by the GOAT and a top10 of all time player so its hard to base that on Spanish league, they'd be fighting eachother for ballon d'ors if they both played in the PL also

A fact is a fact regardless of how you rationalize it. All yours and DonAK's speculative noise doesn't change the reality that playing well in the EPL hasn't won anyone a ballon d'or in a decade, and that was Cristiano. That was also the last time the EPL featured a player that finished in the top three. Before that, Michael Owen was their last winner in 2001. Since 1990, as many players Ligue 1 have won the award; George Weah(PSG/Milan) & Jean-Pierre Papin(Marseille) as players from the EPL. Even Zlatan has finished higher than anyone from the EPL since 2010, and you have to back all the way to 1966 until you find another winner from British football to give them an advantage over France. Stop pushing this BS narrative.

Ronaldo won it at United, Messi the year after at Barca and then Ronaldo joined Madrid. are you telling me that if Cristiano had stayed at United there wouldn't be a Messi vs Ronaldo rivalry? which was already heated up during the CL final. the ballon d'or is a popularity contest these days anyway

So PSG is just a platform for him to use to get to RM, lol . Him going straight away to RM from Barca would have made all hell break lose so i guess he wanted to use another club to get a huge ammount of money and after 1 -2 years leave to RM. Pretty much everyone here knew he wouldn't stay more than 5 , max 7 years at Barca so it was kinda expected for him to leave but we all know now he'll end up sooner or later at RM. What a snake. Forever gratefull for the form he was on in the treble year , and even tho I loved having him here and consider him the 2nd best player in the world , it wasn't worth all the trouble spending so much on him, all the shady ilegall stuff ,all the inconsistency, not to mention the extra 90 mil to his father. Maybe it would have been all worth it if the board would have improved the mid to the point we would have won 1 or 2 other CL but they didn't. In the end Qatar and him trully deserve eachother.

Neymar plus money for Ronaldo. It makes sense for both players. Ligue 1 is weak and therefore Neymars goals wil be under appreciated for the Ballon Dor, he will be relying too heavily on the CL.

Ronaldo turns 33 next month. If they lose to PSG then he needs a huge world cup to have a any chance for the prize, he knows its likey he wont win the award again so he will be happier soending his twilight years stat padding in the French Ligue to smash past the all time goal records of Romario Pele etc and more importantly to stay ahead of Messi. PSG also gives him remaining shots at more CL titles.

You mean the other way around? Several days ago MARCA, AS and a leading Portuguese paper all reported that FP doesn't want to improve Ronaldo's contract and is open to selling him; however practically no team in Europe is willing to pay 100m plus euros for him. Even Ronaldo plus money doesn't make much sense from PSG's perspective since Ronaldo is only going downhill faster from this point.

I believe Neymar has all incentives to go to Real Madrid because it is a much bigger and better platform compared to PSG, escpeically in terms of recognition and chances to win balon'dors.

He won't move to Madrid because that would make PSG the laughing stock of Europe for the 2nd year in a row. The sheiks can't afford that. Neymar got what he wanted. Basically has to win the CL once every two seasons to stay relevant at PSG, considering they're like Usain Bolt competing in the women's 100m. race there in France. No one thinks it's a big feat to win the title in Ligue one with PSG.

Let's hope they knock out the 4th best team in Spain atm a month from now.
Usain bolt in women's race .

The fact that Ngolo Kante was voted in 8th for a team not even in the CL says how much draw certain leagues have.

Mbappe won the league/semis of CL and was probably the break out player of last year and finished one place ahead.

Not saying that epl is worse than ligue 1 but these fifa awards and positions are mostly dumb as fuck.

Not the best parameters to judge.

Zlatan finished higher with PSG than any EPL player has since 2008, most of these people simply know nothing about football. Like the ones who have deluded themselves into believing Neymar’s father is negotiating his contracts.
