So Messi plays at home to leganes before a big champions league game and is rested for a tougher game with nothing important midweek. Great planning there

The last test to complete an unbeaten season, given we're at home next week and he's left out.

We basically sacrificed CL for this unbeaten record.

Salah is only 3 goals back, he could easily equal Messi today playing home vs. a a some 14th table side.

Didn't get why Messi was left out of the squad.

lol they could do with resting him for the first two games and play him in the third only if they need the win.

Imagine him turning him only for the knock out stages. I think the chances of him winning the WC would increase.

Because 1) minimizing chances of getting injured, 2) friendly in which he will have to play (sponsor obligations), 3) still one home game left if Salah scores a hattrick.

That's why it's very easy to comprehend why he's left out.

That is way too big a chance to take. Remember they are a poor team without messi. Anyway the fixture list for Argentina's group games is good. Five days between each game which is the perfect amount of resting time between games
