I think another issue is the delusion of some players to put in one final great performance or to end on a high note, a swan song if you will. Maybe Suarez was genuine when he said Barca should be out to replace him. But what is happening now is that after the Roma loss he wanted to redeem himself and prove people wrong. Then along comes liverpool and it?s a bigger defeat and now the player will not accept to step down after these two disappointments at tail-end of career. They?re stuck in a cycle of not wanting it to end like this but disappointment results just repeating itself and having to step down increasingly becoming more difficult.

The defensive errors also come in part from Messi/Suarez lack of movement and defending.
Far too easy for Bayern to play high line, for defenders to step out and pick a pass and for Bayern to pour mean forward to pressure defence.
The front two strolling about, causing no threat to opposition off ball either attacking or defending all plays a part in the shambolic defending.
Messi as a capt was about as disgraceful as it gets yesterday. He was not interested in defending or trying to help the team. He drifted off and hid when it got tough.

To make ball easier to play out from back.. need better players on ball than likes of Semedo/Roberto in midfield etc. Even Alba is not great on build up.
Need midfielders that can move to make space and receive ball and not leggy past it players like Busi/Rakitic.
Need attackers and wide players that pose a threat in behind to push back on the opposition high line and not allow the pushing up so easily.
Barca have none of it.... lack technical players in defence, movement and workrate in midfield and pace/movement up top.
It is third year in row Barca have crumbled when faced with more athletic teams not allowing them to pass out from back.
La Liga is a shocking standard across most of the teams and they never face this and have false sense of how good a side they are beating the shit in the league too easily.
