Very poor game from him. Had those two sinister misses not even sending the ball towards the goal... In a game like as important as this the best striker in the world shouldn't miss chances with ease...

People in here saying he had a poor game, yet he was the driving force for both goals. Neither goal would have been scored without his contribution.

Noone is disputing his defensive contribution and that he works his ass off in every game but he has just set his standards so high in first two seasons here (and also in his previous clubs) that games like this are considered as bad for him. I often get mad at him for his poor ball control and/or bad passes during the game but at the same time I always know how important he is for the team and that he can always turn his sloppy games into gamewinning goals or assists in moments of genius he really is.

I still think he looks tired and we should rest him against Gijon though.

He was always going to score against this Sporting. Would have probably had a hattrick had he stayed in.

PSG have a German goalkeeper of their own.

So a penalty shootout indeed isn't ideal.

IF by some miracle, the game goes into extra time, PSG would still have the away goal advantage right?

If so, then that is a really stupid rule. There should be no away goal advantage in extra time. Both teams have already played with the away goal rule for 90 min each.

Why should the home team play with a disadvantage if the game goes into ET. Something that UEFA should fix.

No, the away goal advantage is not for the home team. Psg were the home team in the first game.

Away goal rule is stupid anyway. There would be less calculations and games would be more open if they would get rid of that rule. Now home teams that get 1-0 advantage in first leg often prefer to just preserve that lead and not concede than try to score 2nd and 3rd goal.

In that scenario Barca would have the advantage of 120 mins at home while PSG had 90 mins at home.

The away goal rule in extra time helps balance that.

No away goal would make the visitors park the bus and try to win the game at home, most of the time. It's not perfect, but I think it's still better than the alternative.
