FC Barcelona
and Granada CF have reached an agreement for the loan of the player Sergi Samper for the season 2016/17. The Andalusian club will take over the player’s contractual conditions during the season and are committed to contractually to making sure the player participates actively during his loan period.

Samper joined the FCBEscola at the age of six. Since then he has gradually progressed through the youth ranks as far as Barça B where he played three seasons, making 103 appearances.
His excellent performances caught the attention of Luis Enrique and Samper was handed a first team debut in a 1-0 victory against APOEL at Camp Nou in the Champions League in 2014. Since then he has played a total of 12 games with the first team.

After two seasons in the FC Barcelona first team, the Brazilian full-back will spend 2016/17 on loan to the Asturian club

Barcelona and Sporting Gijón have reached an agreement for the loan of Douglas to the Asturian club for the rest of the 2016/17 season. Sporting have made a contractual agreement that the player will be actively involved in the team during his loan year.
The Brazilian full back has defended the Barça colours for the last two seasons, appearing in eight games that have ended in four wins and four draws. He joined the club in the 2014/15 season from Sao Paulo and made his debut at Málaga in September 2014. FC Barcelona have won eight major trophies in his time here.

I hope Sergi does well and the same for Douglas as it might entice a permanent deal for him.

Feel bad for Samper, knowing how badly he wanted to stay, but this looks to be for the best. He'll return to us a much better player, if Paco actually gives him the playing time he's obligated to.

I'm quite happy about this, he'd be getting little playing time at Barca and maybe feel a bit more pressure with his playing.
So Paco's Granada may be the perfect solution.
Looking forward to getting him back with more experience next season.

Happy for Samper, while it was gonna be cool if he turned out that he is the player to start at the club aged 6 and retire at the club 30 years later without any other club in his career. Such move is the best for his career.
Paco and Granada are good at using and developing young players. He wasn't good enough right now to be an impact player at the 1st team. Now he can move and show what he is really made of and turn back as a better player

Toral was just loaned to Granada as well. It'll be interesting to see if they can replicate the same midfield partnership they had in La Masia

Loaning Lord Douglas was a mistake.. We should keep such a world class player like him..
