It's 13m, not exactly a fortune. It's unreasonable to expect to sign a keeper for less than 10m. when everybody knows you're active in the market looking for one.

€13M for Cillessen?
latest

They're retarded. Why are they doing this? They're afraid that Lucho might make D. Alves LaLiga GK?

Then why are we selling Bravo for 17M? City need a GK more than us and Bravo is miles ahead of Cillessen. And the rumors of City demanding 35M for Hart (who they are actively trying to sell) just shows that we suck at negotiating. Barca should demand at least 25M for Bravo, selling him for 17M and signing Cillessen is definitely weakening our squad for no benefit like someone suggested.

I think they were unable to find a deal with Valencia over Diego Alves so looked somewhere else as they couldn't waste time. 13M for Cillessen is too much but then again he will hardly play.

The circumstances for selling Hart compared to Bravo are not the same. Hart is going to an English club and as an English player he has incredible value due to some weird homegrown player rule I admittedly am not completely familiar with. Bravo on the other hand is older and outside of the lens of a biased Barca fan isn't as accomplished as Hart on a club level.

And the entire point of Bravo leaving is to weaken the squad. Weakening the squad, in this case, actually makes it stronger, by allowing us to have one keeper for both major competitions who will always be fresh. We were never going to get back the WC duo we had and that's pretty damn good, if you ask me.

that makes no sense since valencia wants to get rid of alves and we already agreed on personal terms with him a long time ago

Messi scored a penalty against Cillessen in WC 2014 Argentina - Netherlands 1/2final shootout.

Bravo is going to be the 4th most expensive keeper ever he is 33 and was going to be our backup keeper this year. City will never get 35m for Hart, even if hes English, with his huge wages clubs will offer considerably lower for him if they buy him at all. He is being linked with the likes of Sevilla and Everton, both of which if they paid 35 million for a keeper would break thier club record fee on a rejected keeper. this year we have considerable strengthened our squad, Cilliessen may not hold a candle to Bravo, but he will do a good job as a backup keeper which Bravo didnt want to be. We tried to go after Diego Alves, and it didnt work out, factors which are out of our control affected our transfer plans and Cillessen wasnt our first option. If Diego Alves had been right for us we would have brought him, but we couldnt and Cillessen seems the next best alternative, not that im happy
