If he's going to leave in the summer, perhaps Liverpool will want him. He's easily better than Mignolet lol.

    60m + Cillessen for Coutinho

That's actually not a bad idea, considering how shit Liverpool's goalkeepers are. Maybe we can throw in Vermaelen also, since he is probably 10 times better than Lovren.

    25m + Cillesen + Vermaelen for Coutinho.

I think he has accepted that Ter Stegen is just much better atm. Last season there were times when he should have played instead of Ter Stegen and I think it bothered him.

Nah, Jasper is just a good guy, he apparently had a long chat with Dembele too when he arrived last summer.

    ">.

En verano deslizó que si no jugaba más, se plantearía salir del Barça.
No me quiero ir. Si el club quisiera algo diferente me lo haría saber, pero de momento no es el caso. En este momento no tengo ninguna intención de dejar el Barça.
He was asked if he is planning on leaving in the coming summer and he said that he does not intend to leave right now.

We're lucky the Netherlands didn't make it to the World Cup finals. Or else there's no way Jasper would be staying, he's probably the best reserve goalie in Europe.

Then we could have sold him for a great price. That wouldn't be bad thing at all.

    Cillessen's interview with Mundo Deportivo

How is Barça's great undefeated streak going this season?

Cillessen: "It's great. It's what you play football for. You never want to lose and we work harder day by day."

Is Madrid still a rival for the league?

Cillessen: "Of course they're still a rival. If we thought they weren't a rival, we wouldn't be able to keep focus on winning each game we play."

Isn't the distance very big though?

Cillessen: Yes, but when I was at Ajax, we were 12 or 14 points behind the league leaders, but we ended up winning because they lost focus."

How did you celebrate after you won the Clásico 0-3?

Cillessen: "It was very nice because it was just after Christmas break. It was nice to return to Holland with such a great result. It gave us good vibes for the second half of the season."

What has changed in this year's Barça?

Cillessen: "I think we are more balanced. Last year, when we played games and and didn't do well [in the first half], we lost. This year, when we aren't playing well, we fix our mistakes and make sure to win in the second half."

One of the keys to this year's success is defensive solidity. Do you feel that you're a part of it?

Cillessen: "I think Marc is having an amazing year and the defense has been superb. Vermaelen has replaced Umtiti and he's been getting great results; I'm happy for him."

What is your relationship with Ter Stegen?

Cillessen: "My relationship with him is great. We have no problems and we have a good time together. I think he is also happy and we get the best out of each other."

Do you have a relationship with him [Ter Stegen] out of the team?

Cillessen: "Not really. We spend a lot of time together, much more than I spend with my girlfriend and family. So when I'm free, I'm free."

How do you help each other out?

Cillessen: "There's nothing in particular; it's hard to say. We simply try to get the best out of each other by competing every day in training; it helps us build more trust."

What is the most important characteristic in a Barça goalkeeper?

Cillessen: "You need to be good at stopping balls, which Marc has been superb in this year. You also need to be good with your feet, and Marc often surprises me with his precision and confidence when the ball is at his feet. It's like having 11 field players."

What surprised you the most when you arrived at Barça?

Cillessen: "The speed, because it's at a very high level and you need to get used to it. This was the most surprising thing. The level is much higher here and the intensity is too."

Do you feel 100% adapted and integrated to Barça and the city?

Cillessen: "Yes, my Spanish is getting better and I understand everything 90% of the time. I take Spanish lessons twice a week and the language is the most important thing for me to adapt here."

It's been said many times that Barça now have 2 [top quality] goalkeepers. How do you feel?

Cillessen: "I'm very happy that people say that. It's a great compliment for me, because it means that I'm doing my job and also Marc and Dela (goalkeeping coach) are doing a good too. Football is a team sport and we want to be champions together. You can not achieve success individually."

Why be the second goalkeeper at Barça?

Cillessen: "Because I am pursuing my dream and training to be the first (main) goalkeeper. This year belongs to Marc, he's one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Seeing how good he's playing, I accept my current position. If he lowers his level, I will want to play more, but he's doing very well and I'm accepting my current position. I will keep on fighting to achieve my goal."

How is it like to train with a player like Leo Messi?

Cillessen: "It's spectacular and he often makes you feel small. If you saw the goals scored by Leo and Luis at the Anoeta... well, in practice, it's the same. They have qualities that others do not."

Do you remember anything Leo has done in training?

Cillessen: "Every time you see him train, it's amazing to see how good he is. You always want to be playing with him, never against."

There was a photo with you and Coutinho eating breakfast. How was the talk?

Cillessen: "It was very good and it was easier for me because he speaks English; it allowed me to express myself. He asked me several things about training, since it was his first day. He's a nice kid."

What about Yerry Mina? How was your first interaction?

Cillessen: "It was very good. We have already done the first full training session and I'm happy to have him in front of me because he's big and strong. I would not like him to be my rival."

They say you can notice Yerry Mina's joy in the changing rooms. Have you noticed it?

Cillessen: "It's only been his first few days and he still has to adapt to everything, but when you talk to him, you can feel his happiness."

What do you think of Matthijs de Ligt?

Cillessen: "He's a typical Ajax defender. That's why people think he can play here. He's strong, fast, and can play with both legs. I played with him a few times and you can see his mentality, even though he's in his youth. He's a great guy who does have some bad times, but learning only makes you better in football."

Do you see him at Barça?

Cillessen: "Yes. He has all the qualities to be one of the best defenders. He's strong, good at defending, good with his head, and he uses both legs. Every great player can play here."

What are your goals as a goalkeeper at Barça?

Cillessen: "To win La Liga, the Champions League, and the Cup in which I will get to play. I want to win important titles. Winning La Liga and the Champions League comes first and then comes the Cup."

Last question, since I'm curious, where does your first name 'Jacobus Antonius Peter Johannes' come from?

Cillessen: "I'm Christian and I'm baptized, so that's how I grew up. I know in Spain it's different, but in the city where I grew up, it's normal to have a big name."
