Took a look at Ajax forum and they are not blaming him for tonights result at all bar couple saying could have come off line for second. They got shot down by other fans though.
General feeling seems to be he has been great for them and leaves on good terms to Barca.
Comments like 'best keeper since Van Der Sar'. Maybe not saying much though.

He was on a rise three years ago, but after that it's been one way and that's down. He's decent in form, but not that good IMO.

Not a huge mistake, but a great keeper would've boxed that cross at the 2nd goal. It was inside his 6m box, if he moves forward and claims the cross (great cross from the russians btw) and gets pushed or even slightly touched, it's a keeper foul. But he stands still and makes it easier for the attacker to score an easy goal.
The other 3 goals are unsaveable almost.

Dont think he could have it was whipped in and would have been very difficult for keeper to come through those players and win it.

Difficult, yes, but it's still better than just standing still on the line, with that many opponents going for that ball. Everywhere the ball goes but directed right at him and it's a goal.

When the ball is whipped in that low to edge of six yard box from that close keepers wont come for it.
Barely any keepers will come for that.

Normally, no, but it's very very close to him and the ball has a bit of height, even thought it's still a whiped cross. Imo, he should've went for it, rather than just stand there and basically being a sitting duck.

He cant come for that ball. By time he realises where its going there is too much on it.
It was a great ball. Beckham used to put those in all the time and keepers cant react to it.
If player hangs up ball more it comes in from further out then keeper has a chance but that dipping whipped ball there is little he can do.
Only way he can come out and have any chance of getting that ball is guessing where will drop an committing early

It's easy to look at the worst potential outcome and cry gloom and doom, but in reality Mats is unlikely to receive any injury that leaves us hanging without a goalkeeper for a stretch of games that Cillessen can't handle.
