Barca Transfers and Rumors

What we need are players and a coach that can actually play Barca football. And that doesn't just mean having a certain % of possession. And if that is done there is still enough time to complain about height or muscles or fighter types.

Of course a single playmaker can't solve all of our problems, nobody would believe that. But you know what? Just getting some 1,90 guys also won't solve them.

But i have to say it's awesome how you almost made some random crosses sound like the holy grail of football tactics lol

People are talking about players but to me the most important issue is the manager. A manager who has. A clear idea of what he wants will implement a system and bring the right players for it.

If Valverde had a good track record with big clubs I'd give him another season. However he doesn't and the Roma debacle exposed him and the team. We need to get someone like Heynkes or Allegri. Please no more Barca DNA managers.

The most important thing is the boards. People with ability to make strategic decision. I'm absolutely confident that under barto Barça will be non existant at the europeen level.

True. Pogba gives me Neymar vibes. Too big ego.

Hm, interesting comparison. About the egos, Pogba's might be too big, but Neymar is in a class all by himself in that regard. But, very importantly, even if you don't like Neymar, you have to admit that he can and frequently does perform miracles on the field. Would Neymar rise to be in the top 2 players in the world, with less ego? Regardless of the answer to that question, as he is now he is a fantastic player, even if you hate him he must be top 5 in the world.

Pogba, he just is not at that level. He has flashes, even great games, but as of now I would not want to build my team around him. He has entire months when he is just blah. Could he someday be right up there with the best players in the world? The talent seems to be there, but he just has not been able to pull it together yet.

Pogba is not a Barca type of player. I know we have players who are not suited to Barca style like Gomes and Paulinho but we should really get back to playing the Barca way of football and that should start by buying players who have our style of playing.

honestly Pogbas ego isn't THAT big and I'm sure playing with the GOAT would humble anyone, even Neyney himself. he was doing the dab, flamboyant hairstyles etc but he seems a likeable guy. I don't think he'd fit at Barca Barca but if were going down a new style then it could work, the agents gotta go though

We already have an amazing AM that can dribble and shoot in Coutinho. Both together in midfield sounds unbalanced and both prefer to play in left midfield.

Pogba is tall and strong but isn't exactly great in defense imo and we already have Cou so it's better to build around him + Messi + Dembele. To use Pogbas full potential he needs to be used for his offensive qualities, if you just play him as a regular more defensive CM like Mourinho he is not worth the money at all. Best for him would be like left CM/AM, a playmaker next to him and a winger that doesn't constantly cut in on the same area as him but that isn't what we are looking for.

He is certainly not a "barca player" but in theory could still play for us even if we go back to a more barca like style, i think he could adapt at least like Neymar did or Dembele can. It's a bit more difficult in midfield but not impossible. But i don't think he would be worth the money and Pogba + Cou + Messi + Dembele + Suarez/Griezmann looks more like a FIFA career squad than something that works in CL lol

Obviously. Pogba has no place here.

Busquets/Samper/Rakitic

Rakitic/Arthur/Paulinho ------------------ Coutinho/Denis/Alena

At the moment our midfield stands like this.

Gomes,Rafinha,Alcacer sold. Iniesta to China :(

I would promote Arnaiz to replace Alcacer. Obviously Griezmann is great but do we sign him or a world class midfielder like Eriksen and put Coutinho in attack?

Probably Griezmann.

Messi/Dembelé/Griezmann ------------------- Suarez/Griezmann/Arnaiz------------- Griezmann/Dembelé/Arnaiz/Denis

No need for Pogba. Get Kante instead, Kante is far better defensively, fitness and discipline

Na , we have Busqs .
We need creativity in midfield .

Cout and Pogba supported by Busqs

Managed by Klopp .

Oh if we're buying Greizmann I'd swap Suarez for Firmino .

Busi alone in defensive midfield is too bad, remember last years
I see better to switch to 4-2-3-1 with Busi/Raki/Kante to rotate the 2 positions, with Paulinho fourth option, or someone like Ruiz or get an RB and put Roberto as a CM option
I don’t like Firmino BTW, prefer Suarez over him by far even with the drop in his performance but he has chemistry with Messi and Coutinho

Who should Barca get to fill the Iniesta hole?

For many years, I have been thinking that the player who could most easily step into the Barca team would be David Silva. He's not coming, so this is just fantasy. Rotate Silva and Coutinho at \LW, Coutinho and Dembele at RW. Rotate Messi, Suarez and Griezman up front, and either Messi or Greizman can also help in midfield. This is how you win the treble next year.

I still think S. Roberto is the depth need to rotate in at the two defensive midfield positions. He has not played much there, but this should be his best position. If S. Roberto is on your bench, since he can back up such a large number of positions, it allows you more room on the bench for specialists, like both a quick forward plus a large forward.

Silva is 32. Not what we need.

Messi and Griezmann in the midfield sounds like a path towards getting no trophies than one to a treble in my opinon.
