Barca Transfers and Rumors

Have you read Bayerns statements? They do NOT want to sell him, he said he wants to leave.

Reasons why Bayern would sell him? They have injury prone players in Thiago, Robben, Ribery, Javi, Boateng etc. etc. - it would make sense for the board to start reducing these numbers.

Another reason? Bayern has: Javi Martinez, Thiago, Vidal, Rudy, Goretzka, James, Tolisso and several youngsters for a few midfield positions.
Another reason? Bayern does not force players to stick around if they want to leave and Bayern has replacement

Translates to: I dont know anything about it, neither a club nor Thiago has contacted us about this, we still plan with him but i gotta say that we have 9 midfield players in the squad. We only have 3-4 positions for 9 guys. Our team is good as it is, but if we sell someone we might buy someone aswell.

So obviously Bayern will not try to keep the injury prone players out of these 9 (Vidal, Thiago) and instead build for the future with the likes of Goretzka.

oh so we gotta do Bayern a favor and pay them money to bring an injury prone player to our squad.
How stupid would Bartomeou have to be?

Can't see him coming this summer if we are interested since we don't have a non eu spot as Arthur will get it while Yerry gets sent out on loan/sold.

Going to have to wait until Coutinho gets Portuguese citizenship. Arthur could technically get it as well since his wife is portuguese as well but in Arthurs case I see it happening way after Coutinho's.

Any potential under the radar players you have seen in WC so far?

Pretty much all the big teams has underperformed, and none of the big stars have really shone so far.

Basing potential signings off the World Cup is such a foolish thing to do. The sample size is far too small to accurately judge anyone and there are too many variables at play.

Yet after every World Cup we'll have certain players who performed for a 3-4 game strech get massively overrated and players who performed poorly get criminally underrated.

It doesn't matter though, we'll have idiots on forums like this one who watch very little club football outside of the big teams mouthing off about players they know nothing about or have never seen before over a few good or bad matches.

Already got loads of people raving about Lozano, talking about signing him despite probably never watching a single minute of him prior to the Germany match. Now he is the flavour of the hour after scoring one goal against Germany. The guy is a good player, but will never cut it at a top club in Europe. There is a reason why he's almost 23 and still playing in the Dutch league.

If we buy him it will cost 50m and he will flop and sit on the bench like Mina, Paco or Gomes. Then the same people drooling over him and calling for the board to sign him will come out and call Barto clueless once he flops. I'm sure you folk also wanted Mina and Gomes and were happy with the signing when it was first announced, but once he flopped it's all the board's fault and you will claim to never have rated him.

This is the problem with all these La Masia and youth purists. They will want the club to sign every youngster out there calling them the best thing since sliced bread and once the player inevitably flops like he usually does the board will be the ones to receive the brunt of the criticism.

Brilliant logic.

Only the Serbian youngster ( SMS ) and the Russian number 6 Cheryshev have impressed me thus far . Coutinho player of competition as things stand

WC scouting was always pretty useless, it's hard to say if a player is actually good when playing only a handful of games vs mostly not top level teams.

Lozano for example seems to be a decent player but the match vs Germany doesn't prove anything. Having so much space for counter attacks makes every fast attacker look good and tbh Mexico should've scored at least 2-3 because we defended so bad.

Other players like SMS (or James 2014) that are already known also don't really prove anything, they usually just get way more expensive if everyone suddenly talks about them.

National competitions and CL is still way better to scout especially at the level of players Barca should be looking for.

A lot of players that had amazing tournaments turned out to be average afterwords but are often enough way overhyped during the tournament. At WC people even freak out about 1-2 goals/scenes, players don't even need a full good game.

Sadly, The player of the competition so far is Ronaldo, as the things stand. Coutinho might be second or third best, considering Costa.
